I was warned away from the ideas of Shaykh Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhab by Tablighi Jamaat back in the 2000s. Alhamdulilah I have discovered Kitab At Tauhid and commentaries. I picked up an old creed book published by Al Azhar and was immediately taken aback by istigatha being written as permissible according to the Asha'ari.

He wrote books like thalath usul and 4 principles of shirk to establish the proof! 10 :40 - Asawi an american ikwani, said carijis take ayat out of context and so do Wahabis. asawi's work even claim Sh ebn Abdul Wahab accused the righteous of shirk? says you expelled the whoIe nations, you said the ppl who have been on din for 600 years they are on nothing. 14 :45 - hindus pray to rats in temples.

Salafi/Wahhabi is not a math’hab and even bin Uthaymeen when asked about joining/belonging to groups said that he does not encourage it. When told what about the Salafi way, he said be Salafi in manhaj not the group. There are salafis in Africa who are Maliki and have never even been to Saudi. They just realised that much of what came after was bid’ah.
