Wow. I got ripped apart. Lol. I feel like I don’t even deserve the tutorial for the winning image now. The girls were best friends. This was the most “joyful” image out of the set. I agree not the best, but it was taken during a break in shooting. They were just talking and laughing so I decided to turn the light on and take the image.

Don't feel too bad, they can be way too harsh in their critiques. And personally I think a lot of the stuff they like is WAY over done when it comes to the editing. Unless someone looks like plastic they don't like it.

It’s a girl or a hipster guy. My GF right out of high school used to scold her little brother for stealing her jeans. His 14 year old frame fit perfectly into her expensive jeans. I was very confused when I saw both of them standing together from afar...and possibly emotionally scarred 😢

No but that is how our entire critique is based upon. These critiques are coming from the perspective of does it belong in your portfolio and your portfolio is for getting clients. It's fine to submit images just for fun but this critique is about building a business. -P
