As a Ravens fan, the Raven Brothers at 9 is about right. Thank goodness Eric DeCosta and Sashi Brown made sure that Edgar and Allan wouldn't go back into retirement after 2022, and now we have those two and Poe roaming M&T Bank Stadium both in terms of cheering on the Ravens and doing skits. The thing I like about Captain Fear is that his arms and legs are proportional to the giant head. Too many of these just put a giant head on a regular body, especially the “human” ones. That’s why I would rank him higher than the others in that category, since there’s less of an uncanny valley effect going on.

I still miss Ragnar. The old days when the Vikings' mascot was an actual Scandahoovian sonuvabitch from actual Minnesota dressed up like an actual Viking, who started every game by driving onto the field with a motorcycle, used an ax banging on a shield to fire up the crowd, and held the Guinness World Record for fastest man to shave a beard with an ax. If he was still around, he'd be #1 WITHOUT A DOUBT.

The San Diego chicken was my favorite as a kid. He wasn't really the Padres mascot, he was more the whole city's mascot. He was doing all this stuff way back in the 80s.

I think one of the cool things about pittsburgh is that all of their sports mascots show up to all the games, baseball hockey, football college, or pro you will see them. Pirate Parrot, Pittsburgh Pirates Iceburgh, Pittsburgh Penguins Steely McBeam, Pittsburgh Steelers Roc the Pitt Panther. They always show up.

#27 2:43 Oh, I know, I know! The NFL used to have a football-themed superhero cartoon called "NFL Rush Zone" and all of the mascots were the team's helmet with a head and limbs and that was it. The only reason I know this was because I first saw the show the day before Super Bowl 47 and ironically enough, the head coaches of the teams in the game, the Ravens and 49ers played themselves in the episode.

I love T-Rac and his backstory on how he became a Titan. I think it was creative to make our mascot a racoon instead of a titan or gladiator because 1) It's more kid friendly 2) It adds some connection to the state the Titans play in, and 3) He isn't creepy looking like all those other teams that have human looking mascots. Who is approving those design choices for those mascots? Do they not realize how terrifying they look?

Say what you will about KC Wolf, but that mfer is the hardest working NFL mascot. Only one guy dawns the Wolf Suit, not the legend chiefsaholic, but KC Wolf. Same dude since I was a kid, he came to the elementary school every season. Now every major and minor suburb event around the KC Metro area he makes an appearance for a couple hours or so. Kids love him, he's the man Edit: omg you know the real spill on the legend! Dude I'm fuckin impressed with the work you did!! Dude is the fucking man!! 35 now first seen him at school when I was 6 I believe. He used to let a couple kids each assembly wear his suit. He would also explain some of the nuances of a mascot suit to us it was always a blast

The smaller, earlier iteration of the Raiders Rusher came from the show NFL Rush Zone, every team had a Rusher, and yes, none of them had upper torsos. The first season of the show gave all of the Rushers names, and the Raiders Rusher had the name Pillage

Please keep doing what you are doing. I especially loved the baseball fields, “play ball bitches”; wonderful timing. There’s something I would like to mention to yourself and the audience at large, about the mascot Rory. You mentioned with a name like that he’s probably British. If it’s a reference to Rory McIlroy, he isn’t British, he’s Northern Irish. The full title of Great Britain in the Olympics is ‘Great Britain & Northern Ireland’, as Northern Ireland is part of the UK but not Britain. I’m more than happy to bore anyone with the details why this is the case, but it really isn’t that interesting. What is important, is that those nations outside of England with historical political ties, (Scotland, Wales, Ireland & Northern Ireland), really don’t like being bundled with the English too much. This is because, (and I am English); the English spent a long period of their time frankly being utter assholes to them and trying to eradicate them. Utterly not interested in anything else apart from their own viewpoint. (Yes, please see your own 1776 parallel there). Anyway, to reiterate my original point, I enjoy your passion and your cynical humour. I know that this year has been difficult. I don’t know if it will get easier, especially because the baseball went too. Look to that, I’ve found solace in my cricket. Just at a reduced level of competition. It helped me.

The chiefs was named after the KC mayor whose nickname was the chief he played a major role in moving to chiefs (at the time Texans) from Dallas to KC. Not only that chief is used as a honor ( examples Fire chief, chief of police, commander in chief AKA president of the United States) also chief is a noun that means a leader or a ruler.

Roary actually does a lot of fun stuff around Michigan. He is in bunch of random festivals/parades so lots of people get to see him outside of games. Our Detroit tigers mascot on the other hand will only do it after getting paid very handsomely and only do bare minimum before bailing first chance he gets. Roary actually would shake hands with everybody and stay whole time well past the time they were paid to do so he definitely is one of my favorite mascots without doing crazy shenanigans Seriously tho Blue should be #2 with all his antics
