I believe the current DP is DP's best form yet compared to DP in Khabib era. His takedown/sub defences have improved significantly over the years. So when people said Islam is expected to steamroll DP purely because the stylistic matchup favors Islam, I kinda disagree. Max and Islam are the only ones you can’t criticize really. Max is always fun to watch and doesn’t have any flaws. Islam is the best lightweight there is and he is the most complete fighter right now. He has striking, grappling, jiu jitsu, gas tank and a chin. Even though I am a die hard holloway fan you can’t deny islam is the best fighter rn. If holloway beats Ilia and Islam beats Arman, the both need to fight eachother. After that there is not really a good competition for Islam

Well, Islam had staph while fighting against Porier and in the first fight against Volk he was dehydrated due to messy schedule. He only got 13 hours for rehydration while fighters usually get 24-36 hours. So I would say he fought being compromised on both occasion. Let's see what he does against Arman in the next fight.
