Over the years since Tiana's Bayou Adventure was announced, I had my doubts that Critter Country would survive as a land. Why keep it separate when you could have one cohesive land encompassing that entire corner of the park? This. This is why.

I'm ultimately just upset that the daytime version of Bayou Adventure's facade looks so boring and uninteresting compared to Splash Mountain's. I see what they're going for with the fireflies at night and I hope that pans out as everyone is hoping it does, but as things stand now, I couldn't imagine being that excited to check out a big bush if I were a visitor just coming to the parks for the first time. Compared to the weenie of the log from Br'er Fox's den and the Briar Patch itself at the bottom, that just seems so mundane. Please note: I'm not condemning the ride as a whole, as it's literally not even open yet. We'll all have to wait until it's open to see for ourselves!

Disney has dead people problems. Imagine a Han Solo vest and hat shop in Galaxy's Edge outside the Falcon. You would be reminded, every time you visit, that Han is dead, which doesn't quite fit the 'happiest place on Earth.' It sounds dumb BUT that's exactly what they are doing with Ray, who's dead, thanks to another stupid timeline to an attraction that takes place AFTER the movie itself. Glad we are hanging onto Critter Country, but these timelines are making me nuts and Imagineering needs to let them go concerning attractions so we can enjoy ALL of the characters that we love from the films.

I said this on another video as well, but I wish they would have done critters from other ips in the shops. Like I can get the small shop being Ray (or another from the movie.) But the other half of Pooh why not make it into Robin Hood? Pooh's story is in England and Robin Hood could fit in with that. And the movie has fox's and bears so that would fit in with the hungry bear more.

I find it interesting that the first suggested video in the sidebar (for me anyway) is titled "BREAKING NEWS Disneyland is closing Critter Country" and it came out on the same day as this one. Who is telling the truth?? Who is telling lies?? Only time will tell... I do hope Critter Country stays, that's for sure, even if it does change to be more of a bayou area. I'm old enough to remember when it was called "Bear Country" and would hate to see it disappear. (One of my fondest Disney memories is sitting with my family watching Country Bear Jamboree, and my aunt - visiting from Canada - nearly wetting herself from laughter at Big Al singing "There was" ~twayayayayannnngggngng~ "buh-LOOD onnn the saddle..." I would have been 8 or 9 around then.) When I was older & would visit the park with friends, the Hungry Bear Restaurant was almost always our place of choice for lunch. Let the young ones have their Galaxy's Edge and Avengers Campus, while we old fogey go explore the Rivers of America in one of Davy Crockett's canoes. (Which contrary to popular belief, are *not* on rails and if not steered correctly, absolutely will slam into a rock. Ask me how I know LOL. At least the "guide" gave us a nanosecond's warning before we hit & everyone on board thought it was hilarious.) Now I'm gonna go watch the other video & see why that guy thinks it's gonna close. EDIT - OK, I got through about half of it. It was basically fearmongering about the announced *temporary* closure for remodeling, as well as everything you said, only twisted to be signs of its impending doom rather than modifications so that it fits in with both the critter theme and the Tiana theme.

Well, I'm glad I was told about WallLand. Zero desire to miss out on my entire favorite section of the park. Imagine all the spring breakers' sadness, and summer won't be much better. It amazes me that Princess and the Frog, considered a lesser imitation of Renaissance-style films that was Disney's last hurrah into 2D animation back in the day (along with Winnie the Pooh 2011 which now shares an attraction space with it) is now being given a cornerstone placement in the original Disneyland park before bigger 3D IPs like Frozen, Moana, and Encanto. One of my favorite Disney films in one of my favorite stretches of land in any Disney park (From Adventureland to Critter Country).

Disneyland is constantly changing. Thematically, Frontierland, Critter Country, and the bayous of New Orleans Square represents the American past of unconquered wilderness areas. While obviously not geographically or periodically close, they “flow” together better than, say, Tomorrowland, Adventureland, and Fantasyland! The Pooh ride, imo, would be a better fit for Fantasyland, and whatever about Tianna, but maybe there are some upkeep and maintenance costs that justified a new ride or theming. Dunno.

Disneyland Forward just got approved by Anaheim, so there might be some backstage construction going on as well, since the most likely place to cross over to the new area will be through Critter Country. Leading to Zootopia land on the other side would make the most sense; go through the country to get to the city. 🦝🐰🦊

CC‘s only attraction was the Country Bear Jampboree, so when it was taken out… yep, I’d have the same reaction too! IIRC, When Disney had the old mining train attraction, it went through Critter Country and, of course, you could see plenty of critters on that attraction. As for Pooh, the Country Bear Jamboree was anthro bears just like Pooh - although I think that’s more mental gymnastics than anything else. At the time Pooh as the $$$$ Disney property, so they HAD to make a ride for it, a ride that the suits said would make $$$$. Instead, while not a bad ride, it was hardly the A-tier attraction suits thought it would be. Now, it‘s a ride that should be somewhere else in the park, maybe Fantasyland.

In 30 years Splash Mountain will still be alive and well and thanks to the Make Disney Great Again movement taking over Disney, all things Tiana will be banned from the parks like Shoeless Joe Jackson and Pete Rose were from baseball.
