Angelina Jordan - Angelina Jordan was born Jan 10 2006 in Oslo, Norway. She is currently 14 (9 in this performance) - She began singing at the age of 1 1/2 to 2 - At 2 or 3 she discovered Jazz through KZbin videos and started studying all the greats from Jazz history. - Angelina always sings barefoot..... When Angelina was 6, she was traveling with her grandmother and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. The girl complimented her on her pretty shoes, so Angelina took them off and gave them to the girl. She made a vow to always sing barefoot until all the children of the world could have shoes. To this day, whenever Angelina is performing in public, she sings barefoot to remind us that there are less fortunate people in the world that could use our help. There's more to the story & it's more touching. When Angelina was 9 years old she wrote a book about the story that can be purchased on her website. It was her that asked her mother to take her to Norways Got Talent, where she auditioned at 7 years old and went on to win the show at just 8 years old. - In an interview after the show, when asked what she was going to do with the prize money, the 8 year old replied, "I would like to give it to orphans that need clothes and shoes" - The reason you may not have heard of her is because her parents are very protective of her childhood. They do not want her to be thrust into stardom before she has a chance to grow up as a normal child, and finish her education. She can even cover Amy Winehouse and Lana del Rey ect... like you wouldn't believe. - Angelina has collaborated with some very big names over the last few years... Quincy Jones, Mark Ronson, David Foster, and many more. All of which heard her covering their songs and were blown away by her talent. - Angelina has written three of her own original songs: "What is Life", "Shield" and "Oslo". (all are amazing...all can be found on youtube) I think Angelina Jordan is destined to be one of the greatest singers to have ever lived, I feel if she avoids the pitfalls of child success. I do not know all the details but. Before she entered Norway,s got talent. She was out & saw a poor girl that had no shoes. So she took hers off & gave her shoes to the girl. That was 5 or 6 years ago. & out of love, she has always sang barefoot ever since. If you have only just discovered Angelina. Boy are you in for a treat. If your old soul theory is correct That would be Billy Holiday reborn. She did TWO of her songs at her audition. The second one was acapella. Track it down, that will blow your mind.

Quite the voice When Angelina (from Oslo) was 6 years old, she met a homeless girl around her age in Iran. (Her grandmother is Iranian artist Mery Zamani.) The girl did not have any shoes, and Angelina says her feet were scarred. Angelina gave the girl her own shoes. Not only does Angelina honor the young homeless girl she met by performing barefoot, but she also wrote a book about the experience. It’s called Mellom to jherter (“Between two hearts”), and was published in 2015, when Angelina was only 9 years old. If you want to hear Angelina herself tell the story of why she doesn't wear shoes when she sings in public, there are a few different interviews where she talks about it. I especially like this one kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5SmfXePZaiGkJo from a Norwegian TV talk show when she was 9 (the same week she published a book telling the same story). Even though the interviewer has to practically _drag_ the story out of her, this one has the great advantage of featuring her reading a diary entry that she wrote sometime after the experience (the passage also appeared in the book). It's amazing, and proves that she not only sings like someone twice her age, she writes like that, too.
