CRKT M16-04DB - CAME APART!

Here is a vid that describes my experience w/my new CRKT Carson design M16-04DB Deadbolt knife. In this video you will learn a)one of the correct ways to use a diamond honing stone to keep your blade sharp, b)how to keep the knife from flying apart into pieces, and c)a short review of this fine blade. If Ur wondering, "Well if the thing was shaving sharp, why did U even bother to sharpen it?" And the answer to that would B, cause everyone is subject to 'mo-mo' tendencies, that is, the tendency to B Mo-Mo the Clown, sometimes. I thought I could 'improve' on the edge just a tad. A few add'l comments - DO NOT hold the honing stone in your hand! It totally complicates your attempts at consistency. I only did that to move it into camera range. Keep it flat on a table. I find positioning the table or stone @ a 45* angle makes it easier sharpen in both directions. Another thing - once you get into 'a groove', and you feel your to-and-fro motions & angles are pretty consistent, pay attention to the feel of the edge as you pass it over the stone. Does one side drag and hone with a satisfying pull, while the other kind of skates a little? That could mean your edge angle, on only one side, is a little off. You may have to make a few consecutive passes on ONLY ONE SIDE to equal it out. Sharpening the one edge that doesn't feel quite right, just a few xtra times in succession, can mean getting the blade really sharp, very quickly. Similar to removing the burr when using a wheel. The DMT stone I used in this vid needs only a few drops of water for lubrication. If you use a HQ ceramic stone, you have to SOAK IT for awhile before it will hone correctly. When I get the blade back to shaving sharp I'll post a follow-up
