My and friends of mine have had CRKT knives since we were kids. They make a long lasting knife.. my friend has an M16 he got used from a another friend when he started his first job lol. Still uses it to. I have many CRKTs and honestly love them all. None are made from the nicest stuff, but they are made damn well. And also, I complained about the grind on a CRKT I got and someone from customer support reached out and paid for me to mail it in and replaced it. All within like three days or so. They actually care about their knives and customers. You can’t go wrong with CRKT and that is my rant.

Got one on order for a sneaky little tanky edc. I also have the CRKT du hoc and berserker. All solid, heavy built tools

The minimalist line has been part of my collection and EDC. One for neck carry; but I've been looking for a custom clip that can be attached to the sheath so I can casually place one in my pocket rather than on the belt

I take the belt clip off and put it in the small 5th pocket of my jeans. When I pull it I just kind of maneuver it to the side so the sheath gets caught and comes off. Sort of like the wave action from Emerson if that makes sense.

The only thing I wish that CRKT would add to the package is the grind angle of the blade so I could sharpen it up without having to re-grind it from scratch.

Good news, Smoky Mountain Knife Works sells exclusive D2 steel versions of the Minimalist as well as a D2 version of the Spew (also designed by Folts). Unfortunately though, as of the time of me writing this comment, I believe that they're currently sold out of the D2 equipped versions of the Minimalist at the moment. Hopefully you'll be able to snag one once they have some in stock.

Appreciate the short video man. Really informative too. I have the tanto, clip with black handle, and wharncliff. I may get that spear point next….or the Bowie…or both 😂

I am a big fan of CRKT. Currently waiting on my replacement CRKT Clever Girl Kukri that waa lost in the mail earlier last year. CRKT couldn't do anything but offer me a refund. Bought from Austins store instead since he and his family can use every sale they can get right now between covid and Austin losing his leg. Would rather support a brother than a multimillion $$$ company any day of the week

Also, Alan Folts made a quick video (link below) about this knife, where he explains that the spear point has a much thicker blade stock than the other Minimalist lineup, as well as that the markings that you discuss as being possibly from the kydex sheath are actually there intentionally as “stock reduction tabs” on either side: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jnPOfI2CipdmasU

for the size of it, i feel like the fuller is out of place, if the just thinned the blade, it would be a much more useful spear point, it always felt that it wants to be a full size knife with its design but its made so small that those features have literally no point to being there, i just hope they eventually release a version with a full flat grind, mostly since i prefer a kephart styled spear point

@@Tctbnl i get that some people like the thicker blade, but its a small neck knife, a thinner blade would make more sense given the purpose of a neck knife

Good point, but I have to go back to the old saying…….”ya can’t make everyone happy”. That’s the beauty of collecting blades, you figure out what you love and what you don’t. I personally didn’t mind the blade. It wasn’t as chunky as some I have seen 👍
@kevinmorrice Жыл бұрын
@@Tctbnl true, but ive never understood why they put a fuller on such a small blade, if it was a folding knife it would make some sense as a nail nick style opening, but on this it reminds me of what my nan would say "its like a knitted bathtub, its a great idea until you think about it, then its just a waste of braincells"

AHHHH! You always cut the pig tails off! 😭😂 I have yet to get a minimalist but I like the blade shape on this one. There is a local store that sells the mini, I may take a closer look when I am in town. No camera hit this time lol.
