Great review. New subscriber. I'm new to knife collecting. Loved them for years but didn't know crap about caring for them. Thanks to you all teaching us about knives, I'm now building a modest collection. Biggest thing is making up me mind cuz I luvs them all. 😍😍

Good honest review with the pros and cons mate! I will say tho steel retention wise - I never once cut a thing with the blade on the knife only used it as a fidget flipper for a day or two 🤜🤛 Great video again mate keep up the quality review and work, doing us all a favour 🙏

GRN and FRN are both glass reinforced thermoplastics, basically the same thing, but not all FRN/GRN is the same, depends what company makes it, some have more glass in the mix than others. Zytel is also another glass reinforced thermoplastic, just a brand name of the same family of materials. The Symmetry is a fun little knife, I just got one a few days ago. Subbed.

I've been wanting to try one of these. I'm a fan of the double detent from having the MBK EWC and Slayback. Great review brother!🍻
@BladedArticles3 жыл бұрын
They are amazing to just flip all the damn time 😂👌🏼, but as not all detents are created equal this one pings out every now and again if you flip it hard enough. But that’s minor issues really. Yeah well I would say I’ll swap you for the MBK EWC because man I think I’d love that ! But I’ve had to let this one go already. Just wasn’t my cup of tea. However I have many more detents to come 🤫. Cheers Bruh 🍻 stay safe !

I have this and the dually,out of the two the dually is my preferred carry which is another front flipping fidget knife .I was a little disappointed with this knife and it will probably be one for my collection,on a side note am I the only one who flips it open with my thumb 😃
@BladedArticles3 жыл бұрын
I too have dually ! That may be next weeks review 🤫😂. That’s a whole different ball game that one 👌🏼. I concur with that as I felt that it was almost there but it wasn’t. I’m not sure I’ll hang on to it to be honest as it just won’t get the pocket time with the flaws and all the other better In my opinion blades I have. I think you are one of the few yes 😂, I did try quite a few times but then ended up looking like Edward scissor hands. So it’s a no go on that one for me 🤦🏼♂️. Thanks for the support 🙌🏼👊🏼!

Great review. I have the wasabi as well as this and the detent is much stronger on that..so much so that I was going to take the symmetry apart to try and sort it but I’ve since realised that it’s not much use for my needs and is just a bloody fun fidget tool. I picked up the crkt dually at the same time and the bloody thing hasn’t been out of my pocket,I’ve been on the fence about the little benchmade tengu tool for a while until I saw saw one taken apart only to see plastic washers......best part of £200 too🤣 so it’s filled that little gap in my collection .with practice I can now use the smaller crkt like a front flipper too👌
@BladedArticles3 жыл бұрын
Thank you again CT 👊🏼🙏🏼! Aye I have heard that the wasabi is stronger indeed 👍🏼. Haha I get why you haven’t sorted the symmetry if you don’t use it for your needs. I still am going to take mine apart to sort it out I think as I love it as a fidget tool too like you ! Yeah yeah look at you steaming ahead with your dually !! 😂. Good job I may have that one coming up next week then 🤫. I saw that video that Alan did when he took down the tengu !! My oh my I wasn’t expecting those plastic washers 🤦🏼♂️, at that price point that’s just taking the pee pee. Yuuuup I agree with you on that filipper part, takes a while to master with that bottle opener on it but great when you get the knack of it !

Great review as always mate, just couldn’t push the button with this one, and I love CRKT knives, I reckon this would be a stellar buy at £39.99, like the HH CEO, but at £52.00, it’s very high for what it offers. I’m sure it’s a great knife, and I would imagine the cost in reality is actually the Brexit effect. 😄👍🏻 Just noticed the standard UKPK on HH is now £78.95 (the HH red S30V is £79.99 still), sure that was £67.95 last week? 🤔
@BladedArticles3 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much Si 🙏🏼👊🏼! Exactly man I do feel a little let down on the price of this, £39.99 would be a great and sensible price for this indeed ! Particularly like you said about what it offers, just not quite cutting it for me (excuse the pun 😂). It works fine don’t get me wrong apart from the detent on full lock, and the steel is ok for me. It just leaves you wanting more 🤷🏼♂️. I’m glad I was not the only one that thought that !! I’m sure they where priced lower, definitely so brexit malarkey going on there. As I understand it’s probably hit quite a few places. But that’s not a small increase haha.

I ordered the same knife. Research indicates generally opinion is that : Pros : # Very COOL Sleek and modern knife . # Good car knife or for office. # Does not look At ALL like a threat to others. # Designer with a CEO type --- look. Cons: ♤ NON - locking blade function. ◇ Not at all cheap to buy now !! ♧ Blade steel type and the finish is adequate - yet not really outstanding. ♤ Is a : " Made in China. " □ Hard to effect a quick reassembly post cleaning as parts are too finicky. ○ Handle only comes in one finish. That is important for some. As a carbon fibre fan; I enjoy the casual ease of a slip joint with a modernist minimist features. Will go nicely with my other CF stuff.
@AndrewBlanche3 жыл бұрын
No a front flipper it’s a slip-joint flipper.
@BladedArticles3 жыл бұрын
I get what your saying, and thank you for watching 🙏🏼. I would technically put it down as a double detent topside flipper. As it doesn’t have the regular flipper tab at the spine of the closed knife that you see on most flippers hence why I didn’t call it just a flipper. I was wrong in saying it’s just a front as you can flip it from the top the majority of the time. As for the slip-joint it’s technically not a regular slip-joint as it’s on detents that’s why I like to differentiate between the two as they are two different mechanisms at play. Again thank you for watching and commenting ! 🙏🏼
@AndrewBlanche3 жыл бұрын
@@BladedArticles they actually advertise it as a slip joint. In product description from manufacturer as such. There’s no lock mechanism.
@BladedArticles3 жыл бұрын
Understood, however they must have missed out that it was a double detent slip-joint or was just easier to call it a slip joint perhaps. Many companies do this, civivi for example calls them “slip-joints and Double detent slip-joints” It’s a potato potarto situation to be honest. I do understand where your coming from but it’s a different mechanism to a traditional slip joint in my opinion. A Modern take on it if you will. As for the lock, I’m not sure what you mean by that as being a double detent or a traditional slip joint it won’t have a lock, but can also be a flipper as well. ?
