IMO, slip joints need finger choils for added safety. Being able to choke up is also an ergonomic option I'm always thankful for. The Spyderco Roadie, UKPK, and the Kizer Zipslip do this right. This CRKT looks really cool and I love that style of front flipper, but seems to have several flaws making it a no-buy for me. Thanks for the review!

Spyderco do this well, CRKT Pilar, real steel Luna and catshark

Agreed, I do prefer some type of finger choil/guard design for safety if possible.

Great review! Thanks for the look at this one, my friend.

the issue with it not fully deploying or bouncing off the detents isnt actually a problem, its a non locking knife, so you never will stab with it it, its a slasher only, and by using it correctly, slicing only, the only thing that can happen is it fully deploys/ clicks into its detents

Just got mine and its very smart and I will carry it,but I Hate Pocket Clips! It is not really possible to remove this unless you replace the screws. That's what I will do,but it wasn't quite as thought through as I'd hoped! No regrets though,Cracking little EDC of the 'Envelopes and Apples' type,great value for money and as always H.H. astounds with delivery!

The UK variant of the CEO would also be an obvious knife to compare against. I know you missed the thumb stud on the UK version, so if you had to pick one, which would it be, CEO or Symmetry? Both fit into a very similar niche.
@UKLegalCarryKnives3 жыл бұрын
Symmetry hands down for me, I like everything about it more except the pocket clip.

I took mine apart but didn't notice the clip wiggle until now, totally agree it's a good little knife for 50 odd quid♥️🔪

Another great review, especially like the panning shots of the knife at the end! Is that a new addition or do I click off before the end and never see that?!? I'll send a new knife soon.

Just bought one off Heinie cause I lost one of my knives😡 a boker plus xs I'd hardly carried... It was reduced to 29 quid odd from 58 so chuffed with that

Nice looking knife. I could see myself carrying it.

I would definitely buy it if it had a linerlock. I am still in doubt to buy this over the CEO or Civivi exarch since these do lock. seems like the detend is a little too loose and risk of injury too high for a edc

I just got one of these confiscated by border patrol deemed to be a ‘flick knife’ shame it was the nice knifecenter exclusive one. Warning to anyone importing from overseas.

Al, I keep getting doubts about the legality of flipper knives in the UK. Not just for legal carry, but even to own. The definition of "flick knives" is so vague that I'm feeling that even the flipper tab on the blade could be potentially considered as a device to open the blade. I can't decide if a sub 3 inch non locking flipper is legal for every day carry or completely illegal to own. What's your thoughts?
@UKLegalCarryKnives3 жыл бұрын
I had serious doubts as well, there is a clearly lot of confusion right now and since I'm no legal expert, I'm mostly guessing myself of course, however, my doubt was alleviated when a friend spoke directly to customs and they confirmed that they aren't illegal to import and therefore cannot fall under the offensive weapons list, even Heinnie who stopped listing them over the issue has begun to re sell them and their legal team must have looked into it, that said, there is cleary still confusion and even if they are legal, an officer could mistake one for a flick knife easily so it's certainly a risk to carry, I do wish our laws were more clear, however that's what I have to go on as a random guy on youtube.
@randomreviewz26283 жыл бұрын
@@UKLegalCarryKnives Yeah, I've switched my thinking back again to thinking they are OK to own. I'll probably pick up a non-flipping action non locker for my EDC as I just can't be bothered trying to explain why it's not a "flick knife" to a copper/judge.

@@randomreviewz2628 Flick knife, gravity knife, ‘switchblade’ or ‘automatic knife’ A knife where the blade opens automatically or is released from the handle, either by gravity or by pressing a button or something else on the knife.
@SoSimonSays Жыл бұрын
@@randomreviewz2628 sadly it clearly does fall under the flick knife definition, i just choose to be a criminal eff it, if any law is to vague for the average person to understand then the law is not clear therefore unjust and you have a moral duty to disobey.
@randomreviewz2628 Жыл бұрын
@@SoSimonSays Yep. A flipper tab is "something else" on the knife, making it a flick knife. Devil's advocate - Prove me wrong.

I've got to say, I much prefer the Yon Xanadu. It's cheaper, with better steel, it's a little less refined, but I didn't mind taking a little sandpaper to the inlays to even it up, and make the jimping on the flipper less of a finger ripper.
@UKLegalCarryKnives3 жыл бұрын
Argh! I forgot about that one! A great alternative to this one, the pocket clip on it was better as well.
