Realisticly, Croatia has a better goalkeeper, Gvardiol is one of top 5 defenders in the world being just 20 years old and a fresh discovery for many, and Brasil doesn't have a better one. Juranovic is better than any Brazilian full backs and Sosa is not worse than Danilo nor Alex Sandro. Modric and Brozovic would play in Brazils first 11 and there is Kovacic. That's 5-6 players in first 11 that are same or better whether you want to admit it or not. On other positions Brazil is way better and Croatia has tight bench but based on the full material this is not a huge surprise at all.

The best thing i heard during the press conferences of our coach is: "you have to realize we don't have juventus and atletico attackers anymore (like it was in 2018), our attackers are playing in the creation league and we have to work with what we have.", that's exactly it... I just dont understand why everyone keeps on thinking so low against us. We have proven ourselves over and over, we were second in Russia, already kicked bunch of giants and still people doubt us. Croatia has as rich football history and passion as Brazil or any other nation. We don't count on a single name but team play. It's the whole big picture that counts. When Croatia wins, the win is scrutinized and explained in a variety of ways to undermine how good Croatians are. When a "big nation" wins, then it's all about talent, and blah blah. The media is not interested in a small Slavic country wiht a small market. This is an almost entirely brand new squad, with not much World Cup experience at all. There are only 3 players, still on the Croatia team from the last 2018 World Cup, with 18 brand new players this year...

That is not completely true. Modric, Perisic, Kovacic, Brozovic, Lovren, Kramaric, Vida, Livakovic were all in Russia. The starting 11 however is mostly new with only Modric, Brozovic, Lovren and Perisic starting in that 2018 team with Kovacic being the first guy of the bench. However, out of the starting 11 only 4 were not in Russia: Sosa, Gvardiol, Juranovic and Vlasic. The teams backbone in midfield trio, Perisic and Lovren is very experienced and others follow their lead.

I love how guys are focused on the Argentine perspective, like they know the Croats will give them a tough game (but not beat them, surely, or hopefully lol). What talent does this Brazil have outside Neymar? Everyone else is just an avearge player. I wouldn't take any Brazilian defender nor midfielder in place of any of these Croatian equivalent players. I wouldn't take Vini instead of Perisic. I would take Raphinha cos Croatia has no decent RW. I wouldn't take Neymar cos hes not hard working player hes talented but hes pedestrian. I wouldn't even take Richarlison cos hes a very average player and wouldn't be an upgrade even to the weakest part of Croatian team - strikers. Again Brazil is a very overrated team.

Then you need to understand football deep inside and not just to see the romantic surface like a girl that has never seen a game before.
