@@pauldemos-bb5mk let me put it this way, romero in the same game got a yellow for handling the ball just outside the box, there it could be classified as stopping a dangerous play and hence the yellow. Giving messi a yellow for handling the ball in the centre of the pitch to me is a bit harsh, even then lets just assume for the sake of it he gets booked, how does that imply that messi would eventually get sent off? His actual yellow was for arguing with the ref towards the end of the game if I remember correctly, im sure its a reasonable assumption that he would be more careful with how he conducts himself if he was already booked. The conclusion is, you guys seem to make it a much bigger issue than what it actually is, people complain about it as if Messi stopped a goal with his hand and got away with it.

The bold quote of Van Gaal was not really bold at all and taken out of context. He never explicitly said Messi was Argentina's weak link. He was ASKED by a reporter if there were any PRO'S to playing against Messi. To which Van Gaal said it was a good question and that one upside is that Messi does not really defend, so when you have the ball it is like playing against 10 men. Then he ALSO said Messi, in his view, is the best attacking player in the world. Not bold. Not controversial. Just true. It's the Argentinian media that twisted his words.

The rivalry goes farther back. In 1970 feyenoord won the champions cup and felt its players were abused by bilardo's estudiantes team mates when they disputed the intecontinental cup. They even snatched Van Daele's glasses and stepped on them. Two years later ajax accepted to play that cup against independiente but took Cruyff off the pitch in just half an hour after being kicked by dante mircoli. The following seasons the dutch refused to play the game. For the next world cup argentina lost 1-4 in rotterdam in a preparation match, in which they were accused of ilegally tackling the orangemen. In the actual competition, holland blew them off the field 4-0 And the argentinians swore the revenge that materializado 4 years later.

Really biased video, you know that Van Gaal didn't say anything insulting at all? He literally praised Messi by saying that he was the most dangerous and creative player, NEVER did he say that he was the "weak link" or even remotely suggesting anything negative. Probably some translator or media thrill seeker who twisted his words and literally LIED about what has been said, Van Gaal did not insult Messi. On the topic of Messi, this video also conveniently skips over the numerous fouls he made that should've made that yellow a red card (including a handball!). There were also other occasions where Argentina should've received red that aren't mentioned in the video, and of course the referee who was an absolute joke to not giving Paredes a red card for kicking the ball in the player box. That alone is already enough for red, not even considering that he fouled Aké really hard a second before. Why is that not discussed? Also, the fact that penalty was dubious, and the fact that he gave 0 red cards after enough hard fouls from Argentinian players who already owned a yellow card. This referee was awful and got sacked from refereeing a little after the WC.

The entire Olympic games were trash, the organization, security, thefts, accommodation, etc. should not even be taken into account. I had to see the Olympic games for work, but without a doubt I can say without fear of being wrong that they were the worst Olympic games I have seen in my entire life, where the protagonist was not the sport or the athletes, the protagonist was the woke culture and the controversies, especially in women's sports, which made me feel like I was watching a parody like South Park (to give an example).

@niemand1072 come on dude, you talk as if the Dutch were the face of fair play, if the Argentines were the fuel, the Dutch were children with lighters and the referee was the wind that fanned the fire, perfect combo. It must also be said that the Dutch and Argentinians are good at playing victims, but the Dutch are much more shameless.

@ezraezra29283 ай бұрын
@@Rajveersinghdeol7 Portugal won the Euro in 2016 fairly at that time. The only problem is they did this unconvincingly, only grabbing a single win within 90 minutes throughout the Euro (they drew all 3 group games, though). That same year, Argentina lost the football finals third time in a row (after the 2014 World Cup and 2015 Copa America), which almost ended Lionel Messi's career as Argentina national football team. That was really reversed in 2021-2024, with Argentina now winning 2 Copa America titles between the World Cup, and that's how Penaldog fans believed that FIFA literally rigged the 2022 World Cup.
