I didn't know different cities had different taxation, would that be income tax? I'm retired and one of the main attractions for me with Croatia is that there is effectively no property tax, unlike UK where the Council Tax was my biggest monthly bill.

And we are hoping to change that soon 😉 we need young people, not some old farts to further increase the estate prices

On the one hand, it looks like all our progress is tied to EU funds. On the other hand, maybe it's better that way. This way, at least there is some control over the spending of that money and the results become visible. If it was still "our" money, half of it would have been stolen.

@josipvukoja4171 My nation, as a nation, did not collaborate with the nazis. There were some people that joined the nazis. It wasn't wide spread as you are trying to portray it. Croatia on the other hand, even set up concentration camps in it's territory where hundreds of thousands of people were tortured and murdered for years. You cannot ignore these facts. My first cousin fought in Croatia during the 90's war. He fought honorably for Croatia. For 14 years we didn't know where he was. All of a sudden he comes home one day and tells us about his life in Croatia. He lives in a shared apartment unit with another person who also fought. He barely makes it from month to month. I am not imagining these things. They are facts.

Greetings to Bjelovar, town of fantastic Croatian people ! They showed their true heroic face and character right after the WW2, feeding exhausted and hungry soldiers during 'Križni put', even when threatened by communist partisans and facing arrests and death. People of Bjelovar be proud of yourselves , your acts of charity and heroism

Bjelovar and most of Croatia actually sympathized with the nazis during WW2. I've done my Yugo military service in Bjelovar in 1980-1981 at the Bozidar Adzija military baracks. As Albanian, I was mistreated by the military officers, half of whom were Croats, because of the Albanian uprising in 1981 in Kosovo.

@@pejon2269, I’ve also served in the YPA 1985/86 . They’ve been institution of it’s own , answering ro the headquarters in Belgrade, only. City of Bjelovar and the Croats living there have nothing to do with your trouble inside the barracks . Each army officer , regardless of his nationality by birth , was primarily Yugoslav thus, pro-Serb . Same went with the officers with Albanian background . They all were notoriously pro- serb and pro yugo . Your statements are simply not true ! They are biased and made in the light of your subjective and bad experiences there . Your Albanian nation were also N regime symphatizers during ww2

0:08 City is built on freemasonic square and compass. Just look at the streets, typical freemasonic stuff. Also, there are old freemasonic building, along with synagogue which was transformed to a theatre. But no wonder, Habsburgs were/are of jewish/khazar/neanderthal origin and thus freemasonry is not foreign to them.

Bollocks, the town was built as a military base bcs of the ongoing conflict with Ottoman Empire. It is topographically built in the same way as did the SPQR did it 2000 years ago.

I don't like this mayor because he insulted my hometown Vukovar with comments that we are not a multicultural city and he has no idea about our city and how open it is and how much it invests in these types of society. However, Bjelovar is still a modern city and it is obvious that the mayor is doing his job well, just don't insult the residents of Vukovar ever again, we also live for the future.

Paul, I'm very pleased you've visited my home town. So, I just want to let you know about few little facts. The mayor is a part of a ruling coalition in Croatia and off course he will sweet talk to you. The truth is EU funds are managed by people who are not in the same political party as the mayor or to to be more precise, are not even supposed to be involved in any politics. So, to make long story short are you getting payed by HDZ or you are blind?

Now I hardly recognized it because its vibrant, happy and full of life. According to you its better if the communists ruled so everybody would suffer just the same? What is wrong with you?
