When I was teen and learning knitting, my very first, full and final set made by my own project item was this raglan cut baby sweater. It's quite unforgattable. Thanks for reminding me those beautiful, struggling (for chrocheting ) days. I'm running 59. In those days, there were no accscc mobile and NET. This is so cute i tried to downsize it for a doll. Body worked out well but not so much for the sleeves. Think i needed to use a smaller hook/yarn. Made a nice vest in the end tho.

Don't worry about the wool brand, just use what you have... That's why I give measurements, so you could adjust the pattern with different wool

Good morning , first you need to make enough loops that it would fit over the 8 year olds head then I can help you to count the sides, the length of the loops should be around 53-54 cm long

Perhaps do an extra yarnover so they are thicker , it could be just that your yarn is thinner or more silky than mine

I needed 32 loops to get 51 cm (4-5 yr). I changed front and back to 9 each, and sleeves to 5 each, plus the corners. Is this ok or should I have done 8 and 8 front and back, and 6 each for the sleeves?

Strange, I’m using the same DK yarn and same needle size. Yet my starting chain is ending up to be 36 chains to meet the 50cm (I’m wanting to do the 3-4 yrs) mark. Am I doing something wrong?! I don’t want the jumper to be too big. Any help would be appreciated
