Good afternoon Christina, so nice to see you again. It is Saturday afternoon 14/10, and it is peaceful and quiet! My daughter and grandson came over for a quick coffee, and she donated stuff she no longer uses in her home. I got this enormous blessing, 6 Le Crueset mugs she no longer wishes to use. i love the teal colour and the shape so I am going to take them over for us. Alas, my husband was playing with grandson Buckey and he gets so excited, he is 6 years old and the noise!! I have to say it was all good fun, now that they are gone, grandpa is flat out on the carpet with a blanket having a 40-wink session. I said now is my chance to see the latest, but I missed your last project so that is first on the list. There is just something about the basket weave stich that makes it exceptionally nice. The completed blanket is so beautiful draped over the chair, what a cosy invite to come and relax and enjoy your blessings. The colour for this project is so basic and natural, you can use it everywhere inside and out. I have noticed a olive green scarf also knitted in this basket weave stich and I made a decision I would really like that for our next winter season, it looks so smart. Your teachings skills are excellent, I am sure a beginner will easily be able to master the project and also enjoy the works of their hands. It is so nice to listen to your explanations, you are extremely patient, and the tutorial is so easy to follow and understand. Thank you for sharing your talent with the girls, you are sewing good seeds. Kindest regards, Elize

I love all your chunky blankets, fisherman is always a classic & chic color. It reminds me of a fisherman's sweater my oldest brother sent me for Christmas one year while he was stationed in Germany (1966) wish I still had it, but I wore it out, could have added it to a memory quilt.Fur babies are loving their treats, & loving the bowtie!!🍁🍂🍁🍂

Hello~ I’m so fascinated & inspired in your work surrounding a beautiful environment. I had been Vancouver for 2 weeks in summer vacation. I had a good time then and still remember how beautiful there. I started to crochet by chance. Now I became an almost crochet zombie. I ordered the yarn now. Thank you for your specific information about yarn. Because beginners have no many ideas about materials. ❤❤❤

I've been crocheting for a couple of years now and I tried this stitch quite early on as I was learning and it frustrated me so badly. I tried it again with you today and you explained it so clearly I get it. I have a nice little swatch of the most perfect basket weave I've ever made. Thank you Christine❤ Have a great weekend. 😊

Sadly in the UK this wool is roughly £8.50 a ball/skein, so this blanket would cost £153 to knit, how much would this have cost you, if you don’t mind me asking? I am always put off by the price of wool/yarn, and not been knowledgeable enough about wool/yarn, I wouldn’t know how to substitute! I find the different wool/yarn gauges/sizes/length conversions a little confusing. This tutorial was, I think, the clearest by far, for me, and I thank you for taking the time to encourage us non crocheters to crochet! Have a great weekend. If I practice with some Aran wool I have, to make a smaller blanket for a cot/pram could you suggest a hook size thank you. I hope this all makes sense.
@TheReclaimedHeirloom Жыл бұрын
Hi! yes I agree it is pricey! I always wait for the 40% off or buy two get one free sales. Another option is trying on amazon for a lesser priced yarn. as for smaller hook you can try a 6 mm hook. ❤️🙏🎨
@mandiesmaison458 Жыл бұрын
@@TheReclaimedHeirloom Thank you so much for replying, as a Uk watcher I am always blown away by your sales, we rarely have anything like this, and my price was from Amazon, colours often dictate prices also. Again thank you 😊

So really BEGINNER question . . . .does the slip knot at the beginning count as your extra stitch (extra stitch at each end)?
@TheReclaimedHeirloom Жыл бұрын
Yes! You got it right! The slip stitch at the start of the beginning chain is the extra stitch for one end and then you can add an extra stitch for the other end! I remember when I first learned this pattern I had a hard time, so I really wanted to make sure in this video to show that step! It is a good question to ask!! 🤗♥️♥️

Beautiful! I have a stupid question, when you made the first three rows was that a sample of the 5 ft one you made. ?…or you do it in patches??🫤🤔little confused on the three row and the 5 ft blanket. Thank you.
@TheReclaimedHeirloom Жыл бұрын
The sample one I showed was of the three rows , I thought it would be easier to see more clearly with a small sample. I applied all the same techniques to the larger finished blanket. I just wanted to a some clips of the larger, but I can see that might be confusing. It was a good question! I was thinking that the sample size would be easier to follow and see how each row will look and the basket weave pattern would come together for a larger size as all the techniques are the same, I hope that helps 🤗♥️♥️

I am so glad to hear you had value to the video and it can be helpful !! The crochet hook, I purchased from Amazon but I know hubby lobby carries them similar. I really like the plastic hook versus the wood because it allows the yarn to move freely. Crochet was something that took me a little time to learn but with a little practice, you will create an amazing hobby and have such fun creating! 🤗♥️♥️
