Tutorials like this are gifts that keep on giving. At 65 years old, watching this in 2015, I just crocheted my first project ever. Woot! Great job! Thanks so much!

I love these. I am a volunteer at a camp for abused and neglected kids and me and 2 others are making these for the kids. We are putting a strap on them so the kids can wear them around. Thank you so much for making the instructions easy for a newby crocheter.

Hi, I used your idea for the can/bottle cozy using black, white & red yarn to make a Santa cozy for wine bottles topping it off with a separate tiny Santa hat with beard on the top of the bottle. It made for a great way to dress wine bottles at Christmas for friends making them more fun. Thanks for the inspiration.

Thanks-So much! I will see if I can follow this, once I get my yarn, etc. I have not crocheted since back in the 1980's and then just a couple things, one being (my first, actually--back in 1972) a shell stitch that I used to make a shawl for myself when I was pregnant with my yongest daughter. Someone showed me that stitch & I made the whole thing with it. Your video looks like I can follow it, and I really Do appreciate it.

Thanks for a very clear and good tutorial! You do it so well; not too slow and not too fast. And you take the time to explain all the little things we might meet on the way. Excellent camera! (Something so many miss the importance of). :-)

Yes! You sure can! I would make the strap go all the way around the bottom and back up if you are using a 1 liter bottle.

Thanks! This is so nice, and I like how the natural spaces between the dc stitches make it look like a mesh, on mine. I have used it on a Mason jar, and finished the top with one row of hdc and then one row of sc. This drew it in just enough to give a nice fit. Some contents, like loose tea, should not be exposed to a lot of light, and that is why I have made the cover!

Hi, Beth! Thanks so much for the pattern. I just did it adding a handle to it that closes the top of it when it's carried. True, it ended up being bigger than the bottle of water, but I figure that what with all the different sorts of water bottles out there that I'm pretty much set! Thanks again and take care.

Thank you for the simple tutorial! My father in law uses those cheap foam can cozies & they get dirty & thin out after a while. So, I'm thinking I will make him a cotton cozy. That way it can be washed! Thanks again 😊 Happy #Crochet my fellow Crafters 🧶

Thank you for this simple pattern as I was looking for something like this. Now how can I make a long strap on this so I can give to some that's in an wheel chair??
@Bethintx19 жыл бұрын
Virginia Blackwell I would simply crochet a chain the length of the strap and then add enough to go around the bottom of the piece and back up the other side. Sc about 6 rows and sew it in place on the bottom and where the top of the carrier is just before the bottle curves inward.

how can I do one with elastic at the bottom I'm making this for a boy with autism please thank you so much
@Bethintx19 жыл бұрын
Sarah Barton instead of beginning with with a loop, work your stitches into a 1-inch hair elastic. Work round 2 into the hair elastic, making 18 dc into the elastic. resume with the 3rd round.

Ok if I understand this!! Make a chain from the inside it turns at the bottom and attach it there as well as the top
@Bethintx19 жыл бұрын
Virginia Blackwell not quite. Make it go around the outside and around the bottom. Let me see if I can find a picture.
@Bethintx19 жыл бұрын
Virginia Blackwell basically make a separate piece about an inch wide. and the length you want the strap to be plus the height of the bottle. Sew it into a loop, and sew the seam of the loop on the bottom of the carrier. then sew the strap down at the top of the carrier as well.

why perferably cotton?
@Bethintx110 жыл бұрын
Cotton will absorb the moisture when the bottle has condensation and it will not stretch too much. You can use other fibers if you like.
