Absolutely love this shawl. Working it up in yarn bee soft secret from hobby lobby. Looks amazing. The tails, ugh lol, I did eliminate tails by using KZbinr Secret Yarnery (continuous join granny blanket video) to connect all the whole and half granny’s from upper right corner starting on the 1/2 granny and am connecting continuously. Working out well and only have 2 tails to weave in for the 45 granny squares and triangle squares for the entire section which also attaches it to the large triangle half of the shawl. Thank you so much for the beautiful pattern and love love love your teaching! Well done! Happy crocheting!

This is such a cool pattern! I’ve got some pretty yarn in colors that I wouldn’t wear as, say, a cardigan, but they seem wasted on a throw, so wasn’t sure what to do with them. This might be just the thing! I’m not a big fan of weaving in millions of ends, so I think I’ve figured out a way to do a continuous join as you go for the granny square section by starting at the point of the shawl with a triangle piece. As yet, it’s only in my head, so it might not work at all, but I’m going to give it a try! Thank you for making such a great piece and for sharing your time and talent with us! ❤ Sending hugs!

Robin, this is absolutely stunning! I had to watch it over 2 evenings because the combination of your soothing voice and the hypnotic movement of your hook had me dozing off yesterday. That's a first, but not surprising. I totally know what you mean about needing a break from the doubles. I'm almost at that point now with the 5th shell shawl, so will be taking a break from it after this one. But the break won't be too long as the recipient of the red one said her mama loves it as much as she does... so I'll be making a blue one for her ❤

This is a show stopping piece. Absolutely gorgeous. I’m not a big shawl person, but maybe I just haven’t made one big enough yet?! But I’d also consider using this technique to make a square blanket. Basically make two of these shawls connected together kind of like TLYC’s Daphne baby blanket, but two of the triangle sections are made up of mostly squares.
@CreativeEm2 ай бұрын
I agree. 2 identical large triangles joined on the raw edge so that the mostly square sections are diagonally opposite each other

@HookedbyRobin2 ай бұрын
My shawl has 8 full squares (and 1 triangle) in the longest row :D I used 2.5 Caron Cinnamon Swirl Cakes (Shade Oyster), 2.5 balls of Cynget Aran (White) with a 5.5mm hook so that's VERY roughly 1000 meters of the variegated and 500 meters of the white yarn. I got a big shawl from that - my shawl measures 76 inches (193cm) across the top edge and 52 inches (132cm) along the side edges.

Robin, I LOVE your shawl!! It caught my attention because I will be making some baby items for my god-son's first baby. I was thinking about making two large triangles and two granny square triangles to form a little four section baby blanket. Your design popped up just in time to get my creative juices going. May I ask, what was the white yarn you used alongside the Caron Cake? Thank you so much for your wonderful tutorial. I appreciate your detailed instructions throughout. ✌️💜🧶 PS: I had an after thought to check the video description for yarn information. So, I answered my own question. Sorry about that. 🥰
