This is the BEST rainbow pattern I have found, it is brilliant and very easy to follow. I started with the indigo and worked up to red on the final row and it looks lovely. All the other patterns I have found are worked in a circle, then folded in half but this is just what I was looking for. Thanks Alison, it’s another brilliant tutorial, I love it and highly recommend it to other beginners like myself. 👍😁🌈

You are so welcome, Val I apparently got the order of colour wrong way round but hey ho its still a rainbow.

@@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel It is beautiful, whichever way you make it. I had hoped to upload a photo of the one I made (but could not find how to do that) as the bottom edges were not horizontal, i.e. the final shape was more than a half circle and I wondered where I had gone wrong, on the tension maybe?

Made this rainbow this afternoon and loved it. It’s now hanging up on my window. I managed the clouds by using two strands of white wool. First time I’ve tried crocheting two strands. My daughter wants one now so tomorrow will be making another.

Congratulations! You have just helped me achieve a lifetime ambition of crocheting something and I now have a gorgeous rainbow. I did cast on too tightly, so it ended up almost a circle, but I folded the side bits to the back and stitched them in place to make a 6" masterpiece. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

Wonderful, A some point we have all done that, My mother always said once the icing is on, you can see the wobble cake inside. Yip cover it up and keep it your 1st masterpice now try a granny square there is a video on my channel. I have lots o art and craft ideas too to try.

So glad I am not the only one whose rainbow ended up without horizontal edges! Great idea to fold back the excess, I never thought of that so thanks for the tip. I may even fold it over in the front to hide the excess under the clouds. Thanks again.

Thank you Alison. This is the third rainbow pattern I've tried & is by far the best & easiest. What's so good about this one is, that it comes out just like you said it would & was so quick to make too. I still need to work on perfecting the clouds though. As others have suggested, definitely some wire woven in to help shape the rainbow. It's been a delight to watch you & listen to your lovely accent. Thank you again 🙂🌈🙂

Hi Alison Russell, just an idea for anyone who hasn't got any white wool/yarn maybe they could use cotton wool balls for the cloud's. By either glueing or stitching the cotton wool balls to the crocheted rainbow 🌈 instead. Great video thanks keep safe & well ❤ Biscuit Pocket Great Britain.

Thank you for this wonderful pattern Alison. This is the first time I have ever crocheted! I used what was available in the house so my hook size was 7. Fortunately I had all of the colours, though started with the violet and worked my way up to red. I crocheted two rows of each colour, didn't increase quite so much in the upper arches and ended up with a rainbow measuring 45 x 22 cm. I used normal white double knit wool for the clouds without doubling up and they turned out fine. I reinforced the finished result with wire and used invisible thread to hang it in the window.

Well done thats what I love about this channel people sharing their ideas and the small changes they make. ALSO love you used what you had to hand, you can make loads with a size 7 hook its just bigger love your ideas and my rainbow is wrong sequence I should have finished with red I was singing the colours in my head so started with red, I was never told as a kid the colours were singing from the outside in hahaha

What a wonderful idea Alison russell, especially a great project for the kids to do at home while they are all off school. A lot of kids have done colourful drawings of rainbow's & displayed them in their livingroom windows for support for the NHS WORKERS & workers helping to fight & help the sick of the " Coronavirus" I am 58yrs & was going to do a picture, yet after watching this video I'm going to try this crochet rainbow 🌈 instead to display in my window. I love your ideas & i'm a subscriber to your channel. Thank you & keep safe & well, 🍪pocket.

Hi i’m Lisa, 61 from Virginia,USA. I hope you & your family are well and safe.🙏🏻i just love this rainbow. I am making it for my 18 month old grandaughter for Easter. I think it will be beautiful on her wall to see every morning when she wakes. I just cant quite figure out how to hang it without it flopping over. A friend said i should starch it🤷🏻♀️. Thanks for the beautiful instructions. Be blessed🌻🥰
@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel4 жыл бұрын
Starch is a great idea also if the baby wont reach it you could put a thin wire woven through the very top stitches, or glue it to card then hang it on th wall. put clouds on both sides then make a mobile hanger with them use coat hanger wire. Woooo loads of ideas for this xxxx

I found this difficult, due to the rainbow being in the wrong order and also I'd hoped people doing tutorials would have some idea of the pattern involved. The comment: " it's up to you" and it's ok if you have a stitch over" what?! I've come to use KZbin because I needed help, not to just fudge it. I'll be using a different person's video.
@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel3 жыл бұрын
That's fine, Sarah, but not everyone who uses my channel can count, so yes.. I say its ok in a project like this if you have an odd stitch. The next time they make it it will be better. People learn at different speeds. So yes it is ok to say "don't worry if you have a odd stitch" Its about encouraging those who can't and those who try. The colour I worked from the inside out my mistake but its's still a rainbow at the end of the day.
