Woman!!!!!!!! 😂😂😂 I do not need another project! And I’m already making a big blanket! But this sounds like so so so so so so so much fun. And also one square a months sounds sooooo doable!!! Now I have to try! 😂😂😂 listen I absolutely ADORE your channel and you and your tutorials and your enthusiasm for everything spooky. I love scary movies and they are my favorite to watch while I’m crocheting. But apart from that and bright red hair we couldn’t be more different. I NEED to crochet with pastel colors or I’m not happy 😂😂😂 I love all shades of baby pink. I’m like… as colors go… a version of you if you had fallen into a worm hole and ended up in some bizarre alternate reality 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 so I think I’ll have to make your blanket opposite with a nice blush pink instead of the red and a pretty soft grey instead of black. I have never seen "James and the Giant Peach". Since I have issues with nightmares, I googled it. Looks like I'll be able to handle this one. I initially was thinking 'Aracnophobia' would be the movie; glad it wasn't. Going to use what ever color my hand grabs out of the yarn stash bag. Who knows what mine will look like. I am super excited!

On the blog she stated 3600 yards however it could be more or less depending on your personal tension and hook size used for example if your tension is tighter than hers you would need less or if your tension is looser than hers you will need more than the stated 3600 yards. You should always get more than you think you need to make sure you have enough since it is always better to have more than need rather than less

I just found this channel and this sounds like such an exciting project 💜 I can't afford to buy more yarn right now so I'm going to shop my stash. Still excited for the stitch sampler crochet along as I’m going to have a base knowledge for some stitches that I could potentially use to make other projects in my yarny life. I love James and the giant peach movie and I might even make some copies of her spiderness to add even more flair and explanation of the stitch itself for reference later. I know that you are only using two colors but I’m hoping that I can incorporate colors for all the 8 Sabbats of the wheel of the year and bind them together in a cohesive fashion. Also could you please let us know which panels that absolutely need to have two colors used the month before so we all have time to get both yarn skeins ready for the stitch in which they will be needed. I also think the badge images you are giving each month to us will definitely be helpful for keeping our engagement throughout the year.

If I were to use a sport weight for a lighter blanket, would I adjust the hook size? I'm new to crochet and I'd like to try this. If hook size doesn't change, what will be different about its appearance? I have a decent amount of the 2 weight yarn that I think might be enough. I bought it during a special. I'd like to avoid buying more yarn if I can.

If you use a thinner yarn the size of the hook would change as well and that would throw off the count of stitches needed for the square. You can always try doubling up the yarn so that it works with the 5.5mm and the stitches would have the right hight and size🎃

I have trouble already with things sliding off my hook. 😅 If I were to go buy yarn, could you give me a rough idea of how much I'd need? I don't want to over/under buy. I know some types of colors (I have a beautiful ombre lions brand) that recommend making sure you have the same lot number on your skeins for big projects.

The square uses about 300yds of yarn and the blanket in total is 3,600yds. Since you’re beginning I’d suggest to stick with the hook I’m using so the square will be the same size. That way you can follow exactly how many stitches for each row🎃
