I learned to crochet from a written pattern in a book in the 70’s. I can’t tell you how much easier this would have been! So many times I pulled out rows because it didn’t look like the picture. If I’d had you tube then my craft life would have been so much more fun! Thank you💕🇨🇦

my mother always said crochet is 45% pattern and 65% looking at the picture on the booklet way back then loads of patterns were printed with huge mistakes in them. So she always made sure she got ones with a clear picture to look at to see how it works out and how its supposed to look. I remember her ripping stuff out and saying to her friend it's got to be the pattern that's wrong and she was right 99% of the time.

I figured out how to reverse every row, eliminating the chain 5's by using standing doubles, chain 2 corners, and a half double join. It keeps me square, reduces hole sizes in corners and the crowded end corner. I made the 6 stitch beginning sections on the "wrong" side, the 2 stitch beginning sections the right side. The six counts keep your filet holes easy to match even if it does swirl the opposite direction every other row. It's 100% reversable, and a much more square piece. Even if I didn't work both sides, I would still work my corners the same to avoid the bulk that a ch3 makes. My terms are US, by the way, so substitute treble for my doubles. I love your videos and beautiful patterns.
@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel3 жыл бұрын
That sounds amazing. I understand both crochet USA and European terms.
