In today's step by step crochet tutorial I will show you how to crochet this easy marshmallow stitch hat for baby girls from 3 to 6 month old. You can also make this crochet hat smaller or bigger by changing your hook size. Just remember that these sizes are not exact since not all babies are the same size. NB use 2mm crochet hook with #3 or DK yarn
0-3M use 2.5mm crochet hook with #3 or DK yarn
3-6M I used a 3mm crochet hook with #3 or DK yarn
6-9M use a 3.5mm crochet hook with #3 or DK yarn
9-12M use a 4mm crochet hook with #3 or DK yarn
For this crochet baby hat or crochet tutorial I used James C Brett DK Baby Yarn with a 3 mm crochet hook. I used about 50 grams for the crochet baby hat with pompom.

I'm on my third "marshmallow" hat! I made one for a new grand baby coming next month, I made one for my gorgeous 6 year old grand daughter who was watching me make one for our coming baby in variegated pinks yarn and says "Yiayia! You can use a 2mm or 2.5mm hook and make it in the exact same way as this tutorial and it should come out smaller. Good luck 👍

Hi! It could be your tension. Instead try making less rows for the brim in the stitch multiple mentioned then continue with the rest of the hat in the same way. Only thing is that you will have less stitches than me. I hope this helps.
