Your tutorials have been a huge help to me - thank you. I made four different baby booties before I discovered your ‘version’. You just make everything so much simpler! I’m sure some of these fancy stitches look lovely (when done properly), but when you’re just beginning to crochet you really do just want simple stitches that make something just as beautiful. I’ve only been crocheting for a month but thanks to your easy to follow (&understand!) tutorials, I’ve already made baby bootees, prem baby booties, two baby blankets & this hat. My friend is 28 weeks pregnant with a very special baby. She will be delivered early, a week before Christmas, so I’m making these things for her. I honestly think that if I hadn’t found you….I would have give up!! ❤️

Bless you for this tutorial. I am a very visual learner and have struggled for decades to learn how to crochet. Thanks to you, I will be using this to learn how to make very small baby hats and donate them to hospitals for people to have something for their babies who passed on. If their lost child has nothing else, I want them to have a handmade item so their family has something for them to wear instead of just a hospital blanket.

Yes, so many on YT don't show clearly where to insert the hook nor clearly show how to end a row or round and begin another. If I make a mistake it's often at the end/beginning of rows or rounds. These videos are great!

Thank you for the pattern! I made the matching sweater and just finished the hat. Neither turned out to be newborn size-probably more like age 3 months. I adjusted the hat somewhat by omitting the last 3 rows of the special bobble stitch as it looked as though it might go down over the baby’s face if I made it any longer. It’s a cute set that I’m sure will make my niece (and her baby, due next month) happy. Thanks again.

First and foremost, best tutorial ever! thanks so much for your explanations, you are so crystal clear! I hadn't done any crochet in 10 years and managed to follow with ease :-) Little comment for those who use wool: my first trial, using a hook 4 and yarn 3.5 turned out way too big (more like 6-9 months!), maybe I wasn't working tight enough? I repeated with a slightly thinner yarn (2.5-3.5), using a hook 3.5 and got a newborn size hat :)

I just found and made a pair of booties and thought this morning I should see if I could find an easy pattern to make a matching hat. I didn’t even realize until you showed the hat with the booties that it was your booties I just finished! Your instructions are so precise and so detailed that nobody should have a problem following you and yet I managed to have problems. For some reason when we started the increase with 2Dc and 1DC, I consistently came up with more stitches at the end of the row than you did. I opened it up several times and re-did it and every single time I had more stitches. I am not really sure what I did wrong so instead of making five initial rows, I only made four, and in the fourth row I just did a random amount of increases so that I would get to 70. The hat still turned out great, but I would be curious to know what you think why I could not come up with the correct number of stitches
