Great video for the beginner! I like how you actually explains why not joining this or not, it makes more clear to me. Thanks

Thank you so much for this ! The finished product looks very nice, it's original, simple and adaptive. Instructions are easy to follow for the most part. I just finished a small-size one and am now making a bigger one for my wider books. I think I'll even be making a really large one for my hardcover comic books ! :)

This is sooooo cute! I'm definitely going to make one of these for my journal, I take it everywhere with me but people always open it up and start reading :( So I think this would fix that issue while being cute!

Thanks! I'm so glad you like it 😊. And journals should totally be private, hands off people! You could also add a button latch on the top just have a look at my other book sleeve tutorials where I show you how.

beautiful tutorial! i do have one question, when going from single stitch to hd stitch, you chain 1 before joining. do you also chain 1 before joining when going from hd to single?

Hi Sarah! chain 1 is always at the start of the new round. So at the end of each round finish by Joining into the 1st St from the previous round, ch 1, then either SC (for the base) or HDC ( for the sleeve) into the same stitch you joined into. Hope this helps! Thank you ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you for the thorough instructions! Have you ever tried to crochet this flat? I'm trying the sc/hdc repeat section on a flat project and it keeps slanting to one side. I'm thinking it has something to do with all the hdc going in one direction without the row from the wrong side compensating for the slating. Is this something you have come across?

Hi Gaby, I have experienced some slanting on flat pieces when alternating stitch types. It might be something you can block to fix or you can just do it all in sc also. I have a sleave that is just 2 flat sc panels seamed with a flat surface stitch.kzbin.info/www/bejne/m6S6anSOZ8afj7sfeature=shared

Hi there, thanks for this tutorial. It’s a really beautiful project. I had a clarification question, are you supposed to chain one at the beginning of each row after each join? Thank you❤
@crochetcricket Жыл бұрын
Hiya! Thank you 😊 Yes you will always join, ch 1 and work into the same stitch you joined into. Doing a tight join will help it be less noticeable. Mark your first stitch so it's easier to see 🤓 Because of the textured stripes with the HDC blo I decided not to do continuous rounds. Hope this helps ☺️
