I'm almost finished my first one. Very simple recipe, I'll definitely make a bunch of these. Easiest sweater pattern I've come across yet, beautiful. Only thing is I followed this one to the letter but it's smaller than I thought it would be. Making for my brother's birthday but might have to make a larger one. Anyhow, it's gorgeous and thank you for sharing with us...

Not telling you what to do, but Walmart now sells the ring lights for KZbin.an led light over top of you would help us to see your work easier, or use alternative colors just for your videos. Like a light blue for the black and pink for white. The bonus is you get yourself a cool sweater of feminine colors for you. Thanks for your time.

@deescreations3 жыл бұрын
Make your foundation chain 48 inches long or u can take off 2 inches on both sides which u will add later with the ribbing. My yarn was thin yarn and I needed my sweater to be warm so that’s why I doubled it. If you have chunky or yarn size 4, you can use that and don’t need to double it.

I measured the chest then made a foundation chain 36" long (133 ch). Then added 4 (3 for the turning chain) and began DC in the 4th chain in the back loop only. After completing 2 rows, my material measured 41". I double checked my work - no stitches added - no unusual tension. I'm using a chunky 5 and 6mm hook. Can you tell me why this grew by 5 inches? Do I now need to start again and start with a foundation chain of 31" to achieve my 36" chest measurement?
@deescreations2 жыл бұрын
Hi,it could be that your foundation chain was too tight, consider changing the hook.
@rae05212 жыл бұрын
@@deescreations Thanks for getting back to me... I took out chains in the foundation until I had a fairly loose chain measuring 31". Then began again. The foundation chain didn't look too tight but after crocheting into the BLO on it, the material widened. I've now completed the 9th row and the material now measures 39"! and is clearly curved (widening from the foundation row to row 9). I've resisted changing the hook to 5mm because the Patons Shetland Chunky I'm using calls for a 6mm and even using that it makes a fairly tight "weave." Perhaps I should try using a 7mm hook? So, I think I'll frog it all and start again. I have 116 sts consistently in each row, so I know I'm not adding. I don't consider my tension either loose or tight. But somehow I want a piece of material to be 36" to match the chest measurement of the model. BTW... a question. How much does the additional ribbing ADD to the width... it looks as if it could be several inches? Thanks for your help.
