Maybe it's evident but might help someone else (who's equally unexperienced and silly) because I struggled with this: I couldn't figure out why I have a hole in the center of circle when the first row is finished. Turns out it's crucial to pull yarn to make a longer stitch, so it fills the circle properly.

Hi! If it’s the first row it’s alright, but if not, try to check if you're making the stitches in the right place. And maybe you are not pulling the stitches high enough when you make the puff stitch💖

Maybe you've applied too much tension, as a result it came out smaller despite the same exact number of rows.

Hi you can join velvet yarn together by using a lighter Slightly melt one side and take the other end and put both ends together and it will stick

I tried it with a 4mm hook, like regular/medium weight yarn and couldn’t get it to work. I am a beginner though so I could have been doing it wrong.
