Just figured it out. It's a multiple of 4 chains plus one more at the end. I'm making a larger one for my toddlers at work for our Christmas party. We'll play pin the decoration on the tree with some of the other lovely patterns you have for Christmas ornaments!

For some reason I can't for the life of me figure it out, but one end keeps sticking out farther than the other side. I have tried it 5 times. I love the looks of yours but I just can not stop the first row from looking off after I do the second row of DC. One of the ends is always sticking out making it look very uneven😭🤦‍♀️

How about you crochet the first 2, 3 groups of double crochet after chaining with smaller crochet hook 2.75mm then switch back to the 3.75mm hook size to balance it out. Hope it helps.
