Thank you very much! This basket is very lovely and special. The steps and your explanations are very clear to follow. I am also happy to learn the last step of crocheting to the right side. :)

I am working on a full Easter tableau with a basket, grass, eggs, bunny, and carrot. Your pattern absolutely made a beautiful addition. I was thrilled to find you. Thank you!

@@Girlybunches I was just telling my daughter last night how I loved your pattern - SOOOO like a real basket. Neat story about stiffening...I wanted to stiffen it really heavy to keep its upright shape. I was concerned about the handle. I thought to put a basket ball in the basket to keep the handle round, but it would be hard on the handle getting the ball out after drying. My husband suggested a balloon. It worked great! The sides were really heavy with the stiffener (cornstarch), so we used thread to capture a bit of the sides, pull the thread around the top of the balloon down to the other side to connect to it. We probably had a dozen threads. After a few days drying with a fan on it, the balloon came out perfectly without affecting the curve of the handle, and the sides were perfectly upright. I get lots of good comments, I wish I knew how to send you a pic. Your pattern really worked up beautifully! Thank you! Sorry to hear about the bumpy years, but I hope your youtube return indicates the return of good things.

My goodness this is just the cutest lilttle basket ever.. great job! It's so easy and fun to make! I am in the process of making my 3rd basket.. only 19 more to go and all my kids and grandkids will have one for Easter! Thank you so very much! I can't wait to try another one of your video tutorials or written crochet patterns!

Love this. Made a set of 4 nesting Easter baskets using a super bulky yarn and a smaller 6.5 mm hook to give it more stiffness. I also wired the edges of the handle and basket by crab stitching around the wire. The biggest bask I made had 11 rounds for the base, then a 10 round base, a 9 round base , and an 8 round for the base of the smallest basket. They are beautiful and perfect for my 4 children for Easter, and Spring decor in general. Thank you for sharing this beautiful quintessential Easter basket pattern. It's the nicest and easiest I have ever seen!

Beautiful! I followed this and made a bigger basket with extra bulky yarn, increasing the base up to 72 stitches. I had to crochet the crab stitch around wire in the basket and handle edges to keep it stiff, and the end result was a stunning quintessential Easter basket. Thank you! I wish KZbin let you post pictures in you responses so I could show it to you! BTW, I tried to printout the free pattern from your blog links below, but your web page is down, or atleast that's what it says when you click on the links...

There needs to be a LOVE button on KZbin, because I LOVE this tutorial! I'm just beginning, relearning crochet, after not doing it since I was a teenager, decades ago! When I learned before, it was by doing, I never knew the terminology, so it took me a little bit to get to where I could actually crochet. Now having completed leaning all the stitches and completing my first pot holder, I'm moving on to more advanced projects. This tutorial is so well made, I do believe I'll be able to do this, with very little trouble! Thank you for such an easy to follow tutorial on such a cute little basket. After practicing with regular yarn for a while, I will be making little baskets like this out of fl'arn (fleece cut into 1-1.5" strips) so that I make these into cage pouches for my sugar gliders! Thank you once again!

Girlybunches I haven't gotten a chance to try this just yet, but I surely will. I'm still trying to perfect my technique and get better at making my stitches more uniform before I move onto making things for my sugar gliders because their lives depend on safety. I have made a few things with yarn but I'm mainly practicing making circles, squares, balls and trying out different stitches.

So after I did my first detail round I did a round of double crochet but then I forgot after the second row of detail stitches to do the round of all double crochets. It seemed to work out just doing a detailed round on top of another detailed round. Is there a specific reason for the round of just double crochets in between the detailed rounds? In other words, does it give it maybe more strength or something? I hate to tear this all out and start over.
@Girlybunches
@Girlybunches 6 ай бұрын
Just keep going if it’s working for you. The dc row is to give you space for the detail stitches but like I say if it works for you without, keep going. There’s not really any hard rules in crochet. 🧶 🥰

Crystal Wong When ypu start your second roll of increasing and each increasing roll after instead of crochet 2 in first do it in the 2,3,4,5 and so on. Then you end the row with crochet 2 in last one. I hope this helps with your issue. when are at the end of the row you should not crochet in very last area next to first crouchet.
