For everyone asking how much yarn I used. I used about 5 to 7 skiens equaling about 260 yards each.

I can’t wait to try this! Thank you! I’m going to try to combine the body of yours with a different fin design, so wish me luck!!

Thank you for sharing! I have looked at so many different patterns and yours has by far been my favorite. Kids and all💕 I am left handed so I’m having to do this in the other direction, it took me a hot minute to figure out how to make that work but it’s coming along so nice now. I am using your full size fin, then plan on decreasing the blanket part to a child size. I like a super big fin! This is perfect!! Thanks again for your clear directions.

Hi Stacy, I had to pop in and tell you what a great pattern you have made,. I love that it starts at the bottom and works up. I've been trying to create a Mermaid tail myself. I want to use shell stitch that increases from bottom up. Then I found Your M.T. after weeks of Ideas tumbling round in my head now there's No need to! WAHOO Anyway, I heard you say multiple times you don't like to count. Lol I get it! sadly, for some of us watching ..I guess those that might be still in learning mode or like myself.. due to a brain injury Im not the crochet wiz I once was. I'm sure there are many reasons for people and what Im gettin to.PLEASE! DON'T take offense as your brave to put yourself out there to begin with! Kudos for that Stacy!! If its possible to , once you made a video like this or have made your original pattern you intend to share, If you could take the time and go back to write down the base for the 'size" your showing (then we can make adjustments for what we need to make). Then in the video you can give actual stitch counts /rows and what type stitch being used. A few times it was really hard to stick with it only because some places you said do a hdc when you did a dc or the big one ..you said many times it was going to be a cocoon style then it was opened back half way through the video..waa waaaa ( I can fix that later I'm sure ..?but I was not sure what you meant for us to do many many times. I ended up just setting back to watch .. and didn't get anything made. total bummer.) 8 } how many stitches ex: in the tail I wasn't sure what was going on in each row until row 16? .. don't be sry and all that I'm just hoping for a clear .. ex: Work in multiples of 2? Chain? then Row 1 (turn & chain? ) sc in same stitch then 6 sc then ? dc then set of 2 hdc decrease stitches ( hdc two together in next 2 stitches x2) I don't know ...??? Maybe you can write it down as you go then when you show everyone you could say what you actually did without a backtracking.. so peeps like myself don't throw ion the towel and can enjoy the process(for those that need a streamline or easy to follow, I recon you'd say ). AGAIN, Stacy I appreciate all you did and making the video and sharing with everyone !! Im sure there are plenty of folks that need the details laid out as it truly is to be from beginning to end for health reasons or? By the way, lol, don't worry bout the kids in the back ground. I think they were louder on your end..lol kids will be kids 8*)) Im not being B****y really Im not, I just would love to make this M.T. StacyI pray you & your family blessings and here's to lots more Creative & Happy Hook'n 8*))

Love this video and pattern. I'm wanting to make the tail fin larger. Would I just add on an even amount of chains at the beginning?
@thecraftynaturalmama97367 жыл бұрын
Margaux Yerian yes, that's what I do when I do tails. If I want them bigger, I just add chains at the beginning and then of course it evens out at the end when you have to add more DC to make it wider and longer. I hope that makes sense. It's a versitile pattern, as in, you can make it bigger or smaller, just by adding or taking away from that beginning chain.

Just some good advice. We would love to watch a video! We know we are doing this in our homes. It’s very difficult to hear you keep apologizing for everything. It’s definitely not necessary and would be better to have someone very positive! Words like sorry are just bad habits. 😉 You can explain at the beginning but then give positive accolades throughout. People love a positive home crocheted that takes time to create a video for us. Thank you 😊!
@thecraftynaturalmama97366 жыл бұрын
Your welcome! And thank you for the advice! I'm working the whole apologizing for everything. It's such a horrible habit of mine. I have done it since I was a little girl and it's been a very hard habit to break for me.

HELLO, I would love to see you do a video of the pink one also! Beautiful work & pattern. if possible could you do a video for larger sizes? Such as plus sizes, they make great gifts but not all body types are the same. Sad to say but not often at all do i see any plus size videos. Thanks & keep up the great work & thanks for sharing with all of us. Blessed be to you & yours!!

Hi thecraftynaturalmama I’m 5’7” how would I make this to fit me
@laurelgirard84754 жыл бұрын
I have no idea what your second stitch is. If you’re trying to do the double crochet, it goes: yarn over, insert hook, pull thru 2, pull thru last 2. You might be doing a half treble or something like that. If you want a big stitch ; yarn over, insert hook, pull they 2, pull thru 2, and pull thru last 2. Your pattern is adorable but it’s confusing if your using the wrong names.
@thecraftynaturalmama97364 жыл бұрын
Im using names that I learned from other KZbin crochet videos. I haven't made a video in a few years so I Definitely don't even know this pattern anymore. I know I wasn't trying to confuse anyone, but at the time of this video, I couldn't find any cute large mermaid tail crochet patterns anywhere and I came up with this and I wanted to share.

I'm making the foot part, it's like 9 inches wide and I'm on row 4 . Do I need to do increases to get feet to actually fit? I'm making for a 12 year old
@thecraftynaturalmama97367 жыл бұрын
Holly Renea hello! I'm sorry it's been so long since I have been on here. It's pretty wide at the Bottom. The one I made in this video is going to a 13 year old, and another one I made like this is going to a 10 year old. It's just versitile. It's one size fits all, except it's just not for babies or toddoers. It fits me, it fits a 10 year old. Since it's not a tail that you put your feet in all the up to the waist. It has a cubby area for the feet, then it opens up as a blanket.

@thecraftynaturalmama97367 жыл бұрын
iako666 just do more increases as you go up the tail. Make them spread apart so it won't get curvy at the top. Maybe like, every 4 or 5 rows, do a row with an increase every 10 stitches. Just watch it because it may get curved at the top and won't be straight if you do too many increases to close together. Its just so versitile.
