Could you possibly have some measurements for the width because I’m using a weight 3 yarn (that I really like) so I might have to do some extra increases and I don’t want to end up with something too small . Thank you for the video tutorial! Can’t wait for my niece to wear it soon!

Just measure your niece around the hips and from waist to heel to make sure it will fit

This is for newborn, but you can follow the same pattern but use a bigger hook

I followed a pattern for a baby sweater once that was for newborn and the pattern instructions said that to make it for 5-9 months, simply go up one hook size but follow the same pattern. Hope this helps you gauge what size hook to use.
