You are correct. Tucking the corner INTO the bottom of the tree, looks much cleaner and smoother. Thank you for this tutorial, for this technique. I plan to use it alot! Thank you for sharing.

Thank you. I will also make a few more. I’m thinking of poking a stick in the bottom and placing the other end in a cork or something similar so it can stand. Perhaps I’ll make a forest with the crochet granny square trees.

What size hook did you use?
@TheCrochetCircle2 ай бұрын
It was a 3.5mm crochet hook. For the number of rows I was going for about 11cm side lenght of the square.

How do you add the tree trunk?
@TheCrochetCircleАй бұрын
For the tree trunk, I used a stick that I inserted from the bottom in between stitches and secured it with some hot glue. Or you can crochet a cluster of 4 double crochet stitces with some brown yarn in the middle of the bottom line. However, one of the comments got me thinking, so I also made a self-standing tree using 3granny square trees. You can see it in my KZbin Community section: www.youtube.com/@TheCrochetCircle/community And is depends if you want to hang the granny square trees or make them on a stand. Hope it helps.
