@chickadeeacres3864Күн бұрын
That was going to be my question. But I think if you did a sample plain sc square, then count the rows and columns and adjust your graph accordingly, you can achieve a fairly decent image.
@Xx_Lara2323_xX4 жыл бұрын
1st I’d like to say thank you so much! SO HELPFUL! And 2nd I wanted to ask if your base chain stitch is 30+1 because of the foundation stitch usually loses a stitch, because the 1st sc is in the second chain from the hook?

Hi I love your designs I'm going to try my.hand at graphgans very soon. My sister gave me 2 graphs to try and I would.like to make them larger than a baby blanket. Any suggestions on how to take my current pattern and make it larger?
@NilerTaylor-relindesigns6 жыл бұрын
Hi Rebecca, thanks for your question. I personally would scan the image and then enlarge it on my computer. You can then print it out on graph paper. I may print on more than one page, but you can tape them together to give you the finished image. This way, you can make it as large as you want! Hope this was helpful...Happy Crocheting!

can you use a c2c graph to do a graphghan? and if so how will it differ in stitches?
@NilerTaylor-relindesigns5 жыл бұрын
Yes you can. You would use the same concept as the single crochet, only difference is the way you join the yarn and also remember that the scale will be much larger so you'll have to scale down the size. Maybe I'll make a video on a C2C crochet graphghan. Thanks for your question.

It looks like I am late to the party, most of the comments are 1 or 2 years ago. My question is Do I need to do anything different to crochet with my left-hand (rows would be left to right instead of right to left)? I am used to reversing the instructions of a written pattern for the past 50 years, would it be the same on a graphghan?

You said your graphgan was 30x30 but it was a rectangle, not a square! Does that mean my pattern will be stretched out horizontally when I crochet?
@NilerTaylor-relindesigns5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your question. Actually it does end up being rectangular. The 30 x 30 is the number of stitches. The vertical rows of single crochet stitches are shorter than the horizontal single crochet stitches. To make it square, you would need more vertical rows than you would have in horizontal stitches. I hope this make sense to you. Let me know if I need to illustrate it. Thanks for watching.

I saw a book on what looks like some fairly simple graphghan afghans in a catalog I have. I have never done a graphghan before, but I consider myself about an intermediate crocheter. I think I could figure out what to do, but my problem is that I'm left handed, so everything I do is reversed. I'm not sure if I can Xerox the graph pattern and have it printed in reverse, but if there are written instructions with it, I'm not sure how to do that backwards. I'm interested in buying the booklet (it has patterns for 4 afghans) before it's not offered any more by the company, but since i can't see what the instructions look like, I'm not sure I can do it. I can crochet right handed, but it tends to hurt and my stitches are not as even and sloppy.
@NilerTaylor-relindesigns6 жыл бұрын
I'm so sorry for the difficulties you are having. I don't know how to crochet left handed so I can't be of much help...sorry.

how to make a graphghan for a queen size bed
@NilerTaylor-relindesigns7 жыл бұрын
Hi Latrice, my suggestion is to get your length and width measurements. Depending on the hook size that you are using, determine how many stitches make a row. Single crochet to the width of the finished size. Now, determine how many single crochet rows will make an inch. You would multiply that many rows by the number of rows it takes to make an inch. Once you have a graph of your blanket size, you can now add the picture. I hope this helps, if it does, message me back...we will figure it out together! Happy Crocheting!
