@MyHobbyisCrochetBlogАй бұрын
For each animal block you'll find in the pattern which/ how many colors there are used. That are the main bobbins. You should look at the graph pattern to see how many bobbins you need to start with. While you work with the graph, you will better see the rows/ color sections.

I really like your design. Your instructions are clear and easy to follow. Thank you for this tutorial video!! I'm new to tapestry crochet so I have a question. Why have different bobbins of the same color? Couldn't you use the bobbin you used the first time?
@MyHobbyisCrochetBlog6 ай бұрын
Hi, it is cleaner this way and the next row you will need the yarn strand in the same place. So it is not worth it to carry it and work over it. It also saves yarn this way. This is not a clasic tapestry crochet, you don't work over the yarn strands... maybe do so when you only have a few stitches in between the color changes.

I dont understand what you mean by an extra stitch in the second row? Do you put two stitches in the last stitch? And do you do this in every row?
@MyHobbyisCrochetBlog2 жыл бұрын
No, you don't increase at all! You need to know with how many chains to start a graph. For this you will double the number of the pixels in a row and add 2 chains more: 1 for the turning chain and 1 for an additional sc st that we will need at the end of the rows, so we can start and end the rows with sc sts and not with a bobble st. For symmetry and this way it will be easier to add a border later!

Idk if you’ll be able to answer or if anyone in the comments can answer but I’m using this technique just on a different design and I have an even amount of stitches so when I started the second row you said that you start with a single crochet and end with a single crochet but I keep starting with a single crochet and end up with a bobble stitch. Will it affect the design???
@MyHobbyisCrochetBlog4 ай бұрын
You need to start with an uneven number of sts, you need that extra st at the end of the row, so you can start and end the row with sc. It will not work other way.

Hi, you mean the pattern has an even number of pixels in the row. Yes, you will double the pixels and add 2 stitches more: one for the turning chain and one needed at the end of the row to complete the pattern repeat. ( You need an uneven number of total stitches for the pattern repeat.)

@MyHobbyisCrochetBlog2 жыл бұрын
If you are working with this bobble stitch, you should work one row of sc in between. Otherwise it would be much to dense. This is how the bobble sc pattern it's worked. You can try other stitches with the graph. I have a version with the corner to corner hdc. You can also use sc only in rows, but this would also look much sharper if you do 2 sts and 2 rows with sc for each pixel in the graph.

what if the graph is big with small squares do we still double it?
@MyHobbyisCrochetBlog2 жыл бұрын
For a big graph with more than 200 squares ×200 squares I would reccommend using other stitch such as the sc.

This may be a silly question but what happens if I do this left-handed? Do I need to flip it for the design to show (like do all the blue first in the first row)? I've never attempted any graphghan-type projects because I don't know how it works left-handed. This is gorgeous, though and I have a new baby niece I'd love to make this for! Thanks
@MyHobbyisCrochetBlog3 жыл бұрын
Hi Laurie! If you are working it the way it is, the girrafe will turn out with the head in the other direction, mirrored. It's nothing wrong. 🙂
