@MyHobbyisCrochetBlog
@MyHobbyisCrochetBlog 3 жыл бұрын
You can see in my video tutorial above, in the first minutes I'm showing how the back looks like. You should not carry the yarns, but work with bobbins for each color section. This way the back would look pretty also.

I really like your design. Your instructions are clear and easy to follow. Thank you for this tutorial video!! I'm new to tapestry crochet so I have a question. Why have different bobbins of the same color? Couldn't you use the bobbin you used the first time?
@MyHobbyisCrochetBlog
@MyHobbyisCrochetBlog 20 күн бұрын
Hi, it is cleaner this way and the next row you will need the yarn strand in the same place. So it is not worth it to carry it and work over it. It also saves yarn this way. This is not a clasic tapestry crochet, you don't work over the yarn strands... maybe do so when you only have a few stitches in between the color changes.

Hi, I'm not sure, I don't have any left-hand experience, but I think that you will start from opposite direction, first row from left to right, 2nd row from right to left. Please give it a try and let my know how it works, so I can advise other left-handed crocheters also! Thank you!

This may be a silly question but what happens if I do this left-handed? Do I need to flip it for the design to show (like do all the blue first in the first row)? I've never attempted any graphghan-type projects because I don't know how it works left-handed. This is gorgeous, though and I have a new baby niece I'd love to make this for! Thanks

If you are working with this bobble stitch, you should work one row of sc in between. Otherwise it would be much to dense. This is how the bobble sc pattern it's worked. You can try other stitches with the graph. I have a version with the corner to corner hdc. You can also use sc only in rows, but this would also look much sharper if you do 2 sts and 2 rows with sc for each pixel in the graph.

I tried to check if there is anything wrong in the beginning and ending stiches but everything looks just fine for each row. Hi, were your yarns all the same yarn weight? If not, that might be the problem, or the way you change colors, keeping the work tension constant through the project, etc... But with a bit of blocking it should fix.

I created a chart of a very large afghan and I will be doing sc. however I don’t want to double it because it’s more than 200 x 200. How do I do the bobbbles?
@tiffany1752

Is there a way to bobble without sc in between? Because that would make it bigger.
@MyHobbyisCrochetBlog
@MyHobbyisCrochetBlog 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Tiffany, you would need to alternate one row of sc with one row of boobles. You would need the change your chart and make it smaller.

I dont understand what you mean by an extra stitch in the second row? Do you put two stitches in the last stitch? And do you do this in every row?
@MyHobbyisCrochetBlog
@MyHobbyisCrochetBlog Жыл бұрын
No, you don't increase at all! You need to know with how many chains to start a graph. For this you will double the number of the pixels in a row and add 2 chains more: 1 for the turning chain and 1 for an additional sc st that we will need at the end of the rows, so we can start and end the rows with sc sts and not with a bobble st. For symmetry and this way it will be easier to add a border later!

All my animal designs were first made as corner to corner (c2c) blocks, as part of my Wildlife Graphghan CAL. In this tutorial I'm showing how you can work my animal graphs using the bobble sc stitch. So you can make all the animals using either the bobble st, either the c2c method. Your choice.

Yes, the bobble row will be the same as the sc row, but you will read the chart in reverse, from right to left.

Only thing I am not understanding is why are you doubling the row count
@MyHobbyisCrochetBlog
@MyHobbyisCrochetBlog Ай бұрын
Because One Bobble will be actually worked in 2 rows with 2 sts in each row; that means each bobble is made of 4 sts: In the first row: you’ll work 1 sc crochet in each of next 2 sts In the 2nd.row: work 1 bobble sc st in next st, then 1 sc in next st

It could be used for any graph, but it's best for smaller project such as pillows, wall hangers because the stitches produce a heavier, dense project.

Why do you do it with the bobble stitch? Can't you just do single crochet or double crochet and not double the colors
@MyHobbyisCrochetBlog

Because the graph comes out very sharp this way and the piece has a lovely texture for pillows or wall hangers. You can also try with sc or dc, but you don't get this sharp image.
