Hi, I am a beginner, can you please let me know what is the meaning of raising a heart?
@Writer777-wanna_be.Ай бұрын
@@bandanarathore it raises it up from the rest of the material(my guess) I don’t make a lot of granny square but started to do more now because I bought a square holder(after the granny square is completed) it’s a peg board that holds the squares until I’m ready to put it together and that’s why I was trying to look the pattern up that was on the board, this peg board is made where it also holds the metal pins and has a ledge to hold the peg up to work with and the hulled out places to lay the extra pins and /or hooks etc…I love it.
@bandanarathoreАй бұрын
@@Writer777-wanna_be. Hi, I made the square last night and finished it by corcheting the 3rd round only in the back loops of the heart. It gave the heart a neat boundary. I think that is what is meant here by raising the heart. In my country people don't block their crochet or knit projects, they just make and wear and then wash and then garments get line dried. So we don't have blocking boards here. I will make makeshift one by putting things on my thick cotton carpet and pinning them with sewing pins and steam blocking them or by keeping them in the thick towel.
@Sammylovesjesusfrfr3 ай бұрын
I dont know if anyone said this yet, but for a cleaner look for the heart, crochet the square in the back loops of the heart, that way you get the heart outline

Here's a tip At my first attempt, the heart came out curling inwards and looking like a blob. But then I tried this: So basically in the second round of the heart after crocheting the 8 treble stitches, instead of doing one double crochet in each of the next 2 stitches, do 2 double crochets in each of them (which adds up to 4 double crochets in total) This way your heart won't curl like that. But pay attention to the next rounds in the square. I personally did 3 treble crochet (in separate stiches) and then "2 tc, chain 2, 2 tc" all in the same stitch. (So that I have crocheted inside every new stitch that I have made) Or you can mix the first 2 treble crochets and do the third one normally It will also affect the second square round. It's a GREAT tutorial btw❤❤❤ Hope this helps❤
