Kayla Davis Hi there! I started crocheting recently too, and I've made lots of mistakes while doing this beanie. Each round I've had to count the stitches, undo a couple and try again. I kept counting until I got it "right". Last week I could only just hold the yarn and hook without dropping everything on the floor! I think we just have to keep going, and things will become more familiar. Stay strong! :)

I used medium wt worsted instead of #5 wt, and I did use J 6.0mm hook. However, I worked HDC instead of DC. The measurements matched perfectly. Thank you so much! Donating for Christmas for those in need. ❤

I made this one for 18mo. It turned out perfect. I got a little nervous a few times and had to go back through the video but I finished my first hat in about 4 hours. My daughter won't wear it but everyone else loves it. This is a great pattern and will be doing more from this page!

This has got to be THE best simple beanie tutorial I have come across.. and I've seen plenty! I was always shown how to do a hat with single crochets increasing for what seemed like ages and no matter how many I made, there was always an issue with losing my count or going wrong somewhere. I have made beanies for 0-6 months and Adult and i also did Child beanies which i did the same pattern as the adult but with only 9 rows after the first 6 rows instead of 10 like the adult. I couldn't find a pattern to do for kids aged between 6 to 10 so i basically winged it haha. Thankyou for making these videos as they are very helpful and so easy to follow.

Vourna Sanchez that happened the very first time I did one, it’s been like 2 years but looking at the hat, it seems like if you don’t put your hook THROUGH the stitch rather than under it’ll do that, as well as not slip stitching INTO the stitch rather than just going around the chain, which I do a lot without thinking about it. This was soooo easy to make! Made it one night! Yes, it's is 2am here in Australia, I started at around 9pm. I used a 4ply merino wool and a size 3.5mm hook and it came out the perfect size for my 1 month on nephew who is on the bigger side! Just a couple more increasing rows and it will easily fit my 2 year old niece. I have only just learnt to crochet and have a hard time using larger hooks, so any pattern I see I have to alter it so I can use a smaller hook, any tips?
