English is not my first language, and I still understood all of your directions. I thought they were clear and straightforward. I found really helpful that they were written since sometimes I can't keep up with people's accents on English. It's such a simple sweater I don't really find necessary a 30-minute video of you repeating the same stuff. On a side note, I thought it was very clever to measure your dog first and then stick to those measurements instead of trying to follow a size that your dog may not fit in in the end. Anyway, I really liked this video, and I'm heading to part two to figure out the rest! I'm so excited to see how this will look on my girl!

Instructions. Step 1: Measure your dog around his neck, chest and the smallest part of his waist. Step 2: Create a slip knot and then chain stitch until the chain is as long as the neck measure. Step 3: Turn your work. Chain one single crochet into the BACK loop of the chain only. Step 4: Turn your work. Chain one. Single crochet into the BACK loop of the second chain only. FYI - complete 4 rows total of ½ double crochet stitches into the back loop of each stitch. Step 5: Confirm the ribbed collar is long enough, then single crochet it together at the ends. Step 6: With your new colour, attach to your project, chain 2, then do 1 round of ½ double crochet. Step 7: Join the round, chain 2, ½ double crochet second round, (increase by 2 stitches - 1 per side). FYI - to keep your increases even, mark the stitch with contrasting yarn. FYI - to increase your stitches, do 2 ½ double crochet stitches in one hole. Step 8: Join the round, chain 2, ½ double crochet 2 more rounds (increase by 2 stitches - 1 per side). Thanks for making this Laura! I made sweater for my dog today with this video. It was easy once I figured out the instructions. Some of it was a little confusing but I got what you meant after doing it myself and comparing to what you had on screen. I think your pattern is awesome. One suggestion is to slow the video down when starting a new instruction rather than speeding it up immediately. Maybe do 4-5 stitches of that row slower and then you can speed up like you're doing. I'm sure your newer videos are even better now since this one's pretty old

Oh my goodness! Your chihuahua is so darn cute! I "liked" before even starting. So I have female chihuahua and she's really hard to get ready-made doggie clothes to fit. Try putting your hand on top of his head, then squeeze from outside in softly on his head. Use 1 hand. The warmth of your hand is soothing and it actually helps if they are in pain or need to relax. My baby had lotsa pain and I found it helped... then i found it helped her when she was upset or nervous. I have a chiwhip now and he loves it too. I started with my mini cockers in 94.
