Best advice to crochet in the heat. Requires 1 bottle Karo Syrup, 2 gallon size baggies, & mini pillow case or any heating pad cover or pillowcase. Pour karo syrup in one of the baggies, seal with getting air out of baggie. Then put other baggie over the first baggie with the.openings both sealed well & opposite one another. Then put in freezer for easy pliable ice pack. It will not freeze but will be so cool & refreshing. I put on my lap to cool off. It can be used for sports injuries or an ice chest cold pack. I put in my lap to keep crochet project from heating me up.

Maybe you could thread those tails through muslin and tie them in knots before putting it on a cushion.
