You're a bad girl, Kelly... In the last week, I've (finally) finished two of your hexicardigan pattern (varied according to my girls' different tastes!) as well as your Four Square Jumper for a third daughter. Was ready to finally ready to pick up my knitting needles to make something for me...and you tip up with this irresistible little number! I know exactly which daughter will appreciate this one, and of course I'm going to have to crack on with it immediately! Thank goodness I have yarns coming out of my ears!!!! Thank you so much for your lovely patterns and first class tutorials. My favourite phrases of yours: "Don't worry" and "Just wing it". I'm learning to live by both in my crochet journey!!!!

Ha ha sorry!!! I know the feeling when you have multiple crafts shouting your name!! 🤣🤣 And yes absolutely wing it! I wing all of my makes and that's what makes them unique and individual 😆 (well that's what I tell myself anyway!)

@@CraftandaCuppa I'm not sorry! I've been knitting for 50 years and crocheting for...must be at my one year mark about now! You're like having a friend sitting beside me, giving me the confidence I so often lack. Better yet, you never fail to make me laugh and smile with your commentary. You're like a breath of fresh air! Unique and individual. That they are! I had a hard time with the cardi's. My daughters' wouldn't let me colour control...and there you were doing more or less that! It was painful!!!! I have to admit though, the end results are fabulous and on account of a certain Miss Swift, floating around London this weekend!

I'm an intermediate level knitter, and have only crocheted one thing in my life. But I've become interested again exactly for this type of collared shirt, which imo can't be duplicated well in knit fabric. I'm impressed and thankful that there are so many FREE tutorials on KZbin where you walk us through exactly what to do. It's inspiring to see the yarn choice and the garment take shape. However, as far as my skill level and learning style goes, a long tutorial is not practical for me to actually make the garment. Of course it would be hard for me as a beginner, but KZbin University is great and I've been able to bump up my knitting skills just by self study. I don't expect everything to be the same, but I do think it's funny how many knitters would probably clutch their pearls at making a garment without a pattern lol As a teacher, I always think of learning styles and even certain disabilities that require instructions to be written vs. spoken and vice versa. Anyway, something to think about. Thanks again 🙂

I just started playing this, and will be listening whike I do my morning housekeeping . This is now on my wish list of items to make once I get mycWIOS caught up some. I have one question. You mentioned the Size of the yarn; but what type? Is it acrylic, cotton m, wool, or something else? I know alot if cotton yarns can be way thinner than than acrylic or wool, even if tgey are the same ply or weight. That will make a huge difference in the gauge. Thanks :)
@lovefortruth34143 ай бұрын
Also, I have been searching for, and trying a whole bunch of different ways to get a seamless or straight join, and have not found one yet, that I'm happy eith; so I'm o thr brink of coming up with one myself. I DO use your method of turning the work to get a straight seam. I'll see if my potential hack will also work for turning work. I will not be able to post photos, but I WOULD be glad to post written instructions.
@CraftandaCuppa3 ай бұрын
@@lovefortruth3414 hi! You can use any yarn that you wish as there is no gauge! You measure the garment as progress for the tutorial! I used a merino super wash but this would be also be amazing in cotton too!

@CraftandaCuppa thanks! It would be nice to have one of each...a soring/summer one and a fall/winter one :) The only clothes I've ever made are mittens, hats, and head scarves. So this would be a fun challenge to my experience level.

@CraftandaCuppa also, so far my joining method is working on a practice swatch I'm using. I looks seamless with no visible bumps or dents and all tge stitches look uniform. I trued it with sc, then, hdc, then tbc. Also; I turned on one round, and it worked that way as well. I've bern wanting to make decorate cities and place pieces for some items on my kitchen counter, and being able to see the seam was driving me crazy, especially fir the flat pieces. I've bern crocheting iff and on for roughly 30 years snd never knew snout any invisible join techniques until 1-2 years ago. Tgere are several dufferent techniques on yt, but I just wasn't satisfied with my results on any of them. But they dud inspire me to try and come up with mg own
