Done! Loved this pattern. It's so funny I was looking for my hook and you said you may have to go up a hook or two. My furls L was right in front of me and I thought maybe. I used it and it fits perfect. Before I was using Boye hooks and those with my tension are too tight. Thank you for helping me figure it out!!! ❤❤❤ Love you hat is posted in the group.

Hi Spring! I find it interesting to make a hat top down, I've never done it! I just can't wrap my head around it!!!!! Lol seriously no pun intended! How can you know how wide to made the crown? I will need to try this someday. Thank you for sharing your talents! Take good care!❤

Hi Sally , lol pun or not that was funny! I do hats both ways depending on the stitch. As for how big to make the crown there are standard sizing charts or after making so many you kinda get a feel for how many stitches for hook and yarn weight for certain sizes. I know I am a looser crocheter and for me a 5.5 mm hook and 60DC of 4 weight gives me a an advantage adult size. If I Dec the amount of sts by 10 it’s a youth and dec 10 more it’s a baby. Just as a basic idea as to how it works . Hope this helped!! Hugs and prayers

Spring can you replace the moch double crochet for any chain stitch ? I really don’t like the chain stitch for starting the next row on any project. I think it looks funny and weird

Hi Barb , yes ma’am if it is a ch that takes the place of a dc absolutely! The Mock dc gives your project a finished look.
