First of all, I want to thank you for your very kind words. I was so surprised, and immediately had to share with my daughter. Secondly, I want to tell you how much I am enjoying seeing your tiny little squares. I have a bag of 5 inch squares, made with a J 10 crochet hook, and you have inspired me to keep making them. They are all bright solids, and I plan to trim them in super saver black. I really don’t have much in the way a very gated yarn, I love to work with super saver stripes, because the colors are so bright, and well done. I clearly understand why you just keep making those adorable little squares. They are like eating potato chips, you can’t make just one. Making granny is just addictive. I am just now finishing a rectangle or granny blanket, that will go to Boggy Creek Camp. Kayla come from llama mama candle, inspired this blanket. The middle is made up of three matching grannies. That gives you the old long part then you just crochet around and around in the room. Just as addictive as making little squares. I started the border last night, which Will be three rounds of the granny stitch in black. The main yarn I used in this blanket is super saver for the stripes. Very bright, so I think the kids will like it. You are such an inspiration to me. No matter what you just keep on going. You may need to have some time else now and then, but you always come back. And that’s what I can’t learn, because I definitely enjoy your videos. I love the long ones, when I can just sit in Crochet and visit. As you know, I live alone, and very much miss my two for babies. After losing Spencer, in October, It was just myself and Finny. We got even closer than we had ever been. When I lost him, and Marcy, eighth of this year, I thought my heart would break, and it still feels that way. He was such a wonderful comfort. It has been proven that crocheting, knitting, and clothing, etc. Helps a lot with depression, grief, anxiety, and a lot more. I believe that. I don’t know what I would have done without my hooks and yarns. I do want you to know that I fully intend to bring a new fur baby into my life. This time, I think I will get a very young cat. I would love to have another little white Chihuahua, but if anything should happen to me. No one in my family would be able to take him. that’s because two people in my daughter’s family are very allergic to dogs, and my son pretty much has a menagerie in his home. I know they could both take a cat, so I Kitty it will be. I will be looking for a female, and will name her night. Nothing will ever replace Spencer and.Finny, But I have never live without a pet of some kind. I love seeing Arlo twitch his tail over your head. Cats are really fun to watch. They do so many funny things. wishing you a good week. We had a wonderful Sunday. The music at church was so inspiring, and it was great to be with special friends. Then, I spent the afternoon with my 22 year old grandson. He has Asperger‘s, and is very high on this. Spectrum. We ate pizza, and made brownies. Later on this week, he and I are going to get pedicures together. That should be fun. I have only had one pedicure in my lifetime, and he has had none, so it should be an experience. Love and blessings, Sandy from Cincinnati

Hi Jennie. I have to commend you. Your granny squares are so perfectly done. I cannot get the knack of how to do them properly. Mine always come out wonky probably why I don't do granny square anything. Same with corner to corner blankets. I just don't understand how to do them properly probably why I shy away from them. Maybe two tutorial ideas... Granny squares and C2C blankets. You would be the ideal teacher of both. You are a very very talented lady. Adore you so much. Love your channel also.

Thank you so much for your kind words. They meant a lot to me. I really enjoy your videos, because you are so down to earth, and easy to listen to. I always feel like I am visiting with a friend. I hope this Easter Sunday was filled with blessings for you, and your family. Oral surgery can really be tough, so I am glad to hear that you are recovering, and feeling much better. It must have been quite an ordeal. It’s good that you were able. do you have the work you need to be done taken care of. Unloving all those little squares you had been creating. Each one is cuter than the other. That kind of thing is evicted. You just want to see what the next one is going to look like. I can’t wait to see what the blanket is going to look like. I think is going to be so beautiful, and different. Are you planning to edge them all in black? I’m thinking I might do a baby blanket and very small granny squares. What do you think? I want Saul some very small grannies made in pink, blue and white, and they were just so cute. \ Just so you know, I am currently working on a closed, granny Square, baby blanket, made of lion brands, ombre, in the colorway Felicity. It’s for a baby girl. I have two more baby boy blankets that I need to make before summer. And also working on blankets for the.Boggy Blanket Brigade. One is made of right, solid card, granny squares, and the other is a very colorful rectangular, granny blanket. These are four theBoggy Creek Camp, for children with serious, chronic illnesses. If you want more information, just let me know, and I’ll see that you get it. This last year, theBoggy Blanket Brigade made and donated 2090 blankets. The camp is located in Florida,BBB is made of crafters from all over. The end of a long but good day. Our church has a big potluck breakfast between services, and the contemporary service. Our family attended was outstanding. The music was wonderful, and the fellowship at the breakfast, and in church was wonderful. later on, one of my daughters four sons pick me up you have dinner with the family. Of course I brought home leftovers. The dessert I brought home is almost gone. And., I came home with a hand bone that has a lot of hand left on it to use in making split pea soup. This past week I made vegetable and tomato soup. I enjoy making my own soup, because then I know what’s in them and homemade soups are just so good. Sorry to ramble on, but that’s what happens when you live by yourself, you just seem to ramble on. Looking forward to your next video. I truly enjoy just sitting here with my crochet, and the cold, Coke, and visiting a while. Have fun with the adorable little squares. Hugs, Sandy from Cincinnati

I was happy to see a video from you. I was getting concerned and was going to send you an email today to see how you are. I am glad you are feeling better. I love all of your squares and the colors you are using. I am now making squares for 4 blankets. 1 using solids and variegated patchwork bright colored squares with 2 rows of black around it and using the ladder stitch to join. This one I am making for Boggy Creek. Then I am making 2 patchwork afghans but I don't know yet how I am going to be joining them. I may do a slip stich or sc join but I am leaning toward a zig zag join of some kind. I am not going around them with black. That is for sure. I am also making granny squares out of the variegated yarn. Those will have a granny stitch row of black. Then instead of making C2C squares, I am using the yarn to make a variegated C2C blanket unless I decide to frog it and make C2C Squares which I am leaning toward. Your inspiration has gotten me going using up all of my variegated yarn and yes buying new too I can't wait to see how you decide to line up your squares to become a blanket. Like how you choose which colors go next to which colors. Thank You for this project!

Loving your colors. Usually don't like Big Twist Value because it splits for me. I use a H hook as it says on the skein. I'm not wild about using a G hook (broke my hand and G is hard to hold) but I'll give it a try.
@JerilynM7 ай бұрын
What brand of hook do you use? I've found that plastic hooks (even Primn) don't do well with Big Twist. Also, Bates seems to grab this yarn. Opinions?
@jennie-grannysquarepeg7 ай бұрын
Oh no, a broken hand! Please don't hurt yourself trying to crochet with a smaller hook. When I broke my wrist I went from a pencil hold to a knife hold with my hook. Give yourself plenty of time to heal.

I'm new to your channel & subscribed. I've been looking through KZbin for things of interest. I'm a life long crocheter & knitter. Learned knitting from Mom & crochet from Grandmom. I've done acrylic variegated endless granny st afghans, acrylic corner to corner st afghans, and simple DC & SC squares from kitchen cotton into bedspreads for my camper. But I've never mixed them like you are doing. I gotta say the c2c & granny squares in the variegated yarn are my fave, so pretty. And wow especially the c2c catches my eye I'm curious are you going to put a border around all those squares before you attach them? Whether you do or not, it's going to look amazing. Love your video. Ty for sharing.

This is my first visit to your channel, so I'm very confused 😂. Why do you have so many squares? I heard you mention you are going to sew them together for a blanket at the end of the year... ummm... how BIG are you making it? It's going to be MASSIVE if you sew all those squares together! Not to mention they aren't even close to the same size squares, so I'm just trying to figure out what you are doing, LOL! No offense intended... really just trying to understand. The "patchwork" squares - are those just rows of half-double crochet, or double crochet? LOL sorry for so many questions!
@jennie-grannysquarepeg6 ай бұрын
It's not a problem, I don't mind the questions. But it would be easier if you checked out my playlist about the patchwork squares. I have so many because I am making multiple blankets. Big, very big. 3 different blankets with 3 different sizes of squares. Half double crochet for the patchwork square. This in just 1 video in a series of many.
