Your endings are a lot of fun 😊 my favorite one so far is the one you did as Comfort Loops, I think you nailed Victoria’s “stay comfy” ending ❤️ Super relieved to know the Condor found his person 😁 Also loved all the positive takeaways you got from this market even if it wasn’t as “successful” as your other ones

Aww yay! I’m happy the condor found a home! I’m happy the right buyer came at the Knick of time 👀💦 Also, don’t worry about your tattoos - if you don’t like them because you think you will be judged, that’s understandable. I’m a teacher with tattoos, and I’ve found many people today don’t care. So long as there is nothing NSFW, you should be good to be free of your covers 😊

Yay for the condor being sold and to the little girl who loves vultures, that's so lovely. I think it's wonderful that you asked the kids to pick something off your table, I love giving things away and do it often when the opportunity is there and the candy looks great, we have freeze dried vendors at the markets I do and I always buy a bag of something new and share with my husband so I don't eat much of it. I do like the idea the vendor lady gave you about more foot traffic inside your booth and may give it a go but I also really love how you arrange your tables because they are really visually appealing and I especially love the different table levels you do. I'm without a car at the moment but when it's back on the road I'm going to go second-hand shopping for some basket displays instead of spending a lot of money on new things, I really need something that shows my little items better so the kids can handle them easily when making their decisions

Your setup is lovely--such a great aesthetic. At future outdoor shows in order to provide a backdrop for your booth, hang up one of the fabric walls on the back side of your canopy. (I am assuming that your canopy came with walls.) If you don't have walls, a large piece of fabric could work. I have even seen people use long curtains strung on a line that they tie to the frame. This hides things behind you like the street and also the extra things behind your table from your customers. Really love the little chairs as displays for the larger toys. The little fence is a great addition. To make a backdrop for the metal frame (car hanger display) you might try tying a vintage scarf (those square ones that women used to wear in the 1960s and earlier) to the back, or clipping on a piece of fabric you like with mini clothespins or office binder clips. Thrifting may be a good source of colorful scarves and curtains or fabrics. Also, a long banner with your business name to hang on the back side of the canopy frame would also be nice, because at events with lots of people, the table one may not be visible.

I actually am drawn to the more boutique look when I go to craft shows. I find that look so much more inviting and less commercialized. Sometimes I actually skip booths that look too refined and commercialized because it just reminds me more of mass production even if it isn't. If a booth looks too polished, at least for me I mine as well just go to a store. I really like your vibe! Love the little fence and the chairs, that would automatically draw me in! Keep being you!!!

I do a lot of wearables (shawls mostly) though as I'm watching your videos I am working on a plushy. I don't use blanket yarn though, just use the normal 3 or 4 weight. I've tried to use blanket yarn but think I went for the real thick stuff and had a hard time seeing the stitches so I think I'm going to use a dollar tree plush yarn and see how it goes.

@CatCakeCrochet6 ай бұрын
Yes!!! The pattern is by @comfortloops and it’s releasing tomorrow for national corn day! It’s no sew and works up really quick, the one I made was actually pretty bad (my BLO row was very messy because I made it at 3am) but the pattern is super cute and I’m definitely going to make more for the summer events I’m going to. The yellow is Bernat in the color Sunsoaked!

Hello! Love watching your videos. Question: How many other crocheters have been at the markets you’ve done? I signed up for my first market back at the end of April for a mid-July market. I just found out there are AT LEAST 3 other crocheters there, possibly more. Is this normal? It’s a one day event in a smallish town
@CatCakeCrochet6 ай бұрын
Out of the 6 events I have done, 4 of the shows have had other crochet vendors. The most has been 3 other sellers but we all do different things, some only make wearables but stuffies are so popular now that usually that’s what the other vendors have. From talking to other crochet vendors online, it’s super common to do a market with other crochet vendors there. Unless you get lucky and find a juried show, I would always expect to see at least one other one. I try not to do the super popular patterns so my booth is more unique, but even if do make leggy frogs and octos, you can put your own twist on them by choosing different yarns, eyes or colors! I also go out of my way to introduce myself, check out their work and make conversation with the other crochet vendors. Good luck at your show!
