If one were to use a foundation ScC instead of a foundation chain and row of SC, what multiple of stitches would one use?

You still need the first row to be a multiple of 5 + 4. For the single crochet row, chain a multiple of 5 + 4 and chain an extra 1 for the turning chain. For example, chain 45, skip the first chain and single crochet down, the chain 45 will not count as a st and you will have 44 stitches just like in my video 💕 I hope this helps

She explains here 2:56 Because the pattern is just a repeat of 3 doubles and 2 chains, for your panel to be even you need to have your number of stitches be a multiple of 5, that means a number in the 5 times table, which would be 5, 10, 15, 20 and so on She did a chain of 40, which is a multiple of 5, then added 4 to get the extra 3 doubles at the end and the initial turning chain Also in the future if you have a simple question like this, you can just rewatch the video or google it instead of asking the comment section and waiting days for a random person to maybe answer
