Mama, 1. She said this was her best seller (think about it!) and 2. I think she assumes you know how to crochet so if you listen, she's spelling it out for you. Let us know how it works out for you. It's a whole new world out there you know? Kids learn from each other and on YT. So when they do a video they do what they have seen.🤷♀️

Each year, diff styles change and the great designers (like you) tune into those styles and adapt to them. I’m trying to make one for an older child, like 7 to 12 yrs old. I’m using I Love This Yarn (of course lol) and a 5.5mm Susan Bates inverted hook. All the same counts as the adult hat. Hoping it comes out a good size. And for comment #3 lmao…. When working up the brim, here is yet another tip from a professional: Work 1 REGULAR sc in both the beginning and ending stitches of every row and only blsc in between. Not only will it be a lot easier to work your base round when beginning the main part of the hat, but it will look a lot neater as well. So (when working the brim), 1 regular sc {in both loops of the stitch}, then work 7 blsc, then end the row with another regular sc {in both loops of the stitch}. ☺️ Trust me, and you’re welcome.

This is super cute 🥰 I am currently making this for my daughter & am so excited to get it finished! She wants a full beanie instead of the messy bun beanie. In your video you mentioned you would do the full beanie on a separate tutorial but I couldn’t find it. Could you please tell me where to find the full beanie tutorial?

Hi Rachel im so glad you like the pattern. I never ended up doing a video for the closed version. I will try to make that a priority for this year. But the written instructions are www.acraftyconcept.com/free-crochet-messy-bun-beanie-pattern/ and there are multiple videos showing how to make different baby sizes just like this that can give you a visual of what to expect :)

I had to slow down and zoom in, too. The most difficult was the turn and than do the increase... i couldn't really see whitch stitches i had to stitch into 😅 but so far it looks good, not that clean but okay for the first time. Thank you

I’m in love with this pattern :) One question that I could not find in the comments… Many times it is mentioned to go down a hook size for a child size - but is “a hook size” a half size or full size? So this pattern is using a 5.5 so going down a hook size is 5 (0.5 less) or 4 (1 less). Thanks so much!!

It depends on your tension. I use an H for my child size beanies

Hi, I love this pattern so much and I get a lot of compliments on the one I made. Is it ok to make a bunch and sell them? Thanks for sharing ❤️

This was my first hat. It was so much fun and actually came out great. Any tip for the row of 55 single crochet before you start the puff stitch as far as where to place that gets it the closest to the start? Or is it just willy nilly?
@ACraftyConcept3 жыл бұрын
Just space them out pretty evenly and you'll be fine. you just dont want them all next to each other.

I love how easy and beautiful the hat is. I will make it and will try to upload the picture. But, could you tell me where you get the beautiful little tag you swed on the front of the hat? I would love to make some so I can give the gift with a personal touch:)

I loved making this hat! I am self-taught via KZbin and you video was great. I did have one issue. I used Mainstays 100% acrylic yarn in size 4/medium. The brim of my hat had absolutely no rebound from the stretch, like yours does in the video. It stretched and stayed stretched…??? Am I using the incorrect yarn? TIA for your insights 😁
@ACraftyConcept2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jodi. You might be making your chain ones after each brim row too tight. That will drastically affect the stretch of your brim.
