Hi, I just seen this pattern on Facebook and brought it...now I see it’s free...I started it, you say to chain 44 for the foundation row, which I did... it just doesn’t seem to be wide enough. Love the pattern...❤️

Beautiful! I want to make one too. I like that your pattern in made back/forth width-wise instead of by length. Thanks for the tutorial. Do you think a caron big cake self-striping acrylic yarn will look nice instead of using a solid color?

Thank you so much! Really glad you like this pattern. I think a self striping acrylic yarn would look lovely, however I think if you used Caron Big Cake it may come out slighly bulkier. So maybe use a bigger hook and chain less? Or maybe find an Aran weight yarn which is more similar to Caron SImply Soft. Hello, I’m starting this shawl but I have some problems with the width, in your written pattern you wrote it’s 19 inches ,instead I get 13 inches. I’m using same yarn and hook as stated. Thanks

Hello, that may be because you have a tighter tension than me. Also the 19" stated includes the border which is later added, so you will probably need about 16" before adding the border. You could always add some chains to make it wider, it's a multiple of 2+2 for the base chain. Hope this helps !

@@quiltingbirdie hello, yes you can use foundation double crochet for this pattern, and you can use the number of foundation ch indicated in the pattern minus 3. If you want to make it larger you can of course put more foundation double crochets. Hope this helps !
