My first yarn craft was knitting! However, I found crochet and fell in love, I do still knit though. I just don't seem to have the patience for knitting much these days. Hi, did you do 193 hdc for the top edging? I did and it doesn't lay flat. Wondering how yours came out. Thank you
@jeremycrowley35994 жыл бұрын
Janet Ferman , you don’t edge the top , you edge the sides, I did only a couple of rows because I used thicker wool, hope that helps and it does lay flat xxx
@janetferman68654 жыл бұрын
Jeremy Crowley thanks for the reply. Yes, I refer to it as the top since the pattern is working sideways. Will have to frog and redo.
@jeremycrowley35994 жыл бұрын
Janet Ferman , ah no , maybe if you made less stitches the shawl would flatten out , you wouldn’t notice the difference, I hope it works out for you, you can pm me anytime, this is Terese Crowley, my husband’s name comes up on KZbin 🤦♀️

I am just about finished with this! I just have to sew the pockets, buttons and put the fringe on. Im thrilled with how it turned out. My favorite thing about it (believe it or not), is the ribbed stitch. I can knit some and love the looks of knit but prefer crochet because I am so right handed. Thanks Carrie ❤️

The last two I’ve made, I’ve used a wobble stitch (sc, ch one, dc in same stitch) every other stitch on last row of rim. It lays better on neck and gives a more feminine look. That’s just my opinion. It’s a great pattern.

Than you for sharing this amazing pattern with us! It really makes a statement. The only thing I'll do differently is to use a stacked single crochet instead of the chain 3 at the beginning of rows. I just like the look better. Edit: I hadn't watched the end yet, so attaching the fringe negates the stacked SC. 😉
