A delightful poppy that is easy to follow tutorial.

To make this lovely poppy with less sewing, I started with black yarn and made 16 dc in a magic circle (US terms). I then switched to red yarn and carried on with the petals. When the first petal is completed, don’t cut the yarn - instead, slip-stitch down the side of the petal to the starting point for the next petal. I sewed a tiny button in the centre to cover the hole.

@@delilahgillis5287 I think we should share what we do and then it gives us options. The lady is only giving her ideas. That’s how inventions come to be - building on the previous invention to create better or different ones so that we have more choices. Take it easy fellow traveller! 🌻

I’ve lost count of how many crochet poppy videos I’ve watched and have attempted 4 before yours. Yours is the first that produced results I’m happy with. Your poppy looks the most detailed and complicated of them all but was actually the most straightforward one to make so thank you so much for these excellent instructions 👍❤️

Thank you so much for your kind feedback and I really appreciate it. Although I’ve been teaching in person for over 10 years, it’s so good to know that my video tutorials are clear to follow, as I’ll be adding now. 😀💖🧶

Excellent instructions and video. I had tried one pattern before which was very awkward to do and I read several more which didn’t seem any better. This one is the best and demonstration very clear. Thank you.

I disagree, I'm new to everything (I'm a knitter though) i decided to learn how to crochet about five days ago, I've made two blankets already and was absolutely loving it but this was a little painful on the brain. I'm currently waiting on a autism diagnosis so this may be the reason as to why I thought it wasn't as clear as it should be for someone who's a beginner (like you said) I know I'd be put off if this was the first thing I tried to make. 🤷🏻♀️ Just my opinion, I'm glad you liked and enjoyed it.

This is Double Crochet not Treble/triple crochet.
@WendyPooleTheDressmaker4 ай бұрын
Hi There, I’m using UK stitch terminology. A UK treble stitch is the same as a USA double crochet. Although it’s the same stitch the USA and UK have different names and I’m in the UK. Hope that’s helped explain it for you.
