Crochet Pretty Beanie Written Pattern:
Materials Required:
1 skein/ball of Red Heart With Love Lilac Yarn
1 skein/ball of Red Heart Kids Playful Yarn
6.5mm Crochet Hook
Craft Scissors

Size/Head Measurements:
Ladies - 22 inches/56 cms
To make smaller sizes - leave the last round or a few of the last rounds off from the crown part of the pattern and leave off a round or a few rounds off from the sides.
To make a larger size - add the extra increase round in after Round 6 which is stated below.
Note: ch 2 = 1 dc st right throughout this pattern.
Making the Crown (top of beanie)
Using Lilac Yarn, ch 5, sl st into 1st ch to form a ring.
Rnd 1: ch 2, (working over yarn tail) 15 dc into ring, sl st into top of ch-2. (16 sts)
Rnd 2: ch 2, * 2 dc into next st, 1 dc into next st, rep from * around to last st, 2 dc into last st, sl st into top of ch-2. (24 sts)
Rnd 3: ch 2, * 2 dc into next st, 1 dc into each of next 2 sts, rep from * around to the last 2 sts, 2 dc into next st, 1 dc into next st, sl st into top of ch-2. (32 sts)
Rnd 4: ch 2, * 2 dc into next st, 1 dc into each of next 3 sts, rep from * around to the last 3 sts, 2 dc into next st, 1 dc into each of next 2 sts, sl st into top of ch-2. (40 sts)
Rnd 5: ch 2, * 2 dc into next st, 1 dc into each of next 4 sts, rep from * around to the last 4 sts, 2 dc into next st, 1 dc into each of the next 3 sts, sl st into top of ch-2. (48 sts)
Rnd 6: ch 2, * 2 dc into next st, 1 dc into each of next 5 sts, rep from * around to the last 5 sts, 2 dc into next st, 1 dc into each of the next 4 sts, sl st into top of ch-2. (56 sts)
If you want a larger crown add in this following increase round before starting the sides:
ch 2, * 2 dc into the next st, 1 dc into each of the next 6 sts, rep from * around to the last 6 sts, 2 dc into the next st, 1 dc into each of the next 5 sts, sl st into top of ch-2. (64 sts)
Sides
Rnds 7 to 14: ch 2, 1 dc into each st around to the end, sl st into top of ch-2.
Finish off.
Sew yarn tails in with a yarn needle.
Edging
Using Playful Yarn, join with a sl st into the same st where you last finished off, 1 sc into same sp as sl st and into each st around to the end, sl st into 1st sc to join.
Finish off.
Sew yarn tail in with a yarn needle.
Strips (Make 2)
Using Playful Yarn, ch 57 loosely. (For the larger size, ch 59 loosely.)
Row 1: 1 sc into 2nd ch from hk, 1 sc into each ch across to the end.
Finish off.
Weave your strips in and out of the stitches on the 4th and 7th round up from the bottom of the beanie. Use the two end yarn tails of each strip to attach to the other side of your strips. Tie bows with your yarn tails so that you should have two bows at the back of the beanie.
