CROCHET PUMPKIN BUCKET HAT TUTORIAL - BABY SIZE

Made some adjustments in order to get an adult size. I did not add how many stitches are in each row sorry!! * 6.0mm for base, leaf, swirly and 4.50mm for stem * Pumpkin base: R1 MC with 11hdc R2 inc in each stitch R3 (1hdc inc) around R4 (2hdc, inc) around R5 (3hdc, inc) around R6 (4hdc, inc) around R7 (5hdc, inc) around (this row is for the big headed people like myself LOL but you can stop at row 6 with the increases if your head is smaller) R8-14 (1 hdc in each) around R15 (1hdc, inc) all around (I did this row in front loop only cause I like how it flares the brim out more but you can work it in both loops if you prefer that) R16-19 1hdc in each around and fasten off Leaf: R1 chain 11 R2 starting in second chain from the hook 1sc each in next two stitches, 1hdc each in next two stitches, 1dc each in next three stitches, 1hdc in next two stitches and 3sc in the last stitch *working on other side of the chain* 1hdc each in next two stitches, 1dc each in next 3 stitches, 1hdc in next two stitches and 1sc in last two stitches each. Chain 1 and FO Swirly leaf thing: Chain 25 and inc in each stitch. Chain 1 and FO Stem: *every row ends with a slip stitch chain one like in video* R1 MC 10sc R2-6 1sc in each stitch Chain 1 and FO *I lightly stuffed the stem but totally optional* Attach like in video and done! Thank you. I was sort of wondering about how to crochet this hat to adult size. Would a double crochet or triple crochet work with this pattern? Just wondering. Again; I Thank you.

@@sonyadavidson6313 You can do single crochet but it would require more rows maybe. I think the half double crochets are perfect for adult size as well as the toddler size. I think double ot triple crochet would make it too flimsy. You would probably use less rows as well if you were to do double or triple crochet.

For round 2 when you say increase in each stitch, does that mean there would be 2 HDC in each stitch? I'm new to crochet and trying to figure out how to read patterns lol

Okay I love this pattern, but please, you need to specify that it's for children, that way I or others can make necessary increases in the beginning. Because I got all the way to the rim and had to restart when I realized that this will not fit on an adult. It's also my mistake for not watching all the way through before starting. @@juliaramos1302you can start with 11 dc in the magic ring and increase by 11. So row 1 should have 11dc , row 2 increase should have 22. And so on

Continue making rows. And just make sure to measure. Since she made 8 half double crochets in the magic ring for a baby size, you should make 11. That’s how many I make for adult sizes.
