Hi 😊 It just hit me a month ago to learn to to crochet 🧶 I am so excited!!!! No, you would alternate between 5 sc and 5 dc every five stitches. So, it's exactly the same as what you see in the video except that you'd be doing it for longer since your scarf is wider. I hope that makes sense.

How many do you do when you do 25 are you doing more double crochet so that you just have five on the end that are single crochet

Follow the pre-established pattern. You’re alternating between 5 single crochet and 5 double crochet stitches. Continue with that pattern until the end of the row.

At what point are you coming up with extra stitches? It’s impossible for me to know without seeing it. But try to pay super close attention to what I’m doing in the video. I give a lot of detail in my videos to avoid these types of problems for learners.
