@@DebiDearest you did such a good job with the video. Ok a couple of dc you called front post dc but it was obvious what you meant. I take my hat off to anyone who can design, I’ve been trying for years and never end up with a flat fabric. I can do very basic design but as soon as I try something like you do the stitch count goes haywire and it is a mess. I live in rural Australia so the internet is a godsend.
@DebiDearest
@DebiDearest 4 жыл бұрын
@@Soffity I think that’s been the most challenging part. This one does pucker a little in the middle but can be blocked to lay flat. My new design I’ve gotten better at being consistent. I think the main thing is stick to a repeat number. I usually do 8, I’m trying 12 this time. Add one stitch to each repeat as you make it grow. Hope that helps maybe. ❣️
@Soffity

@@DebiDearest thank you so very much, you’re the first designer to reply and give me any help so I really appreciate it. I am so grateful to you for your time and your lovely designs. How do you add a stitch count when you have so many bobbles and popcorns etc etc. How do you know which equals what. I’m not expecting you to answer but how did you work all that out, to me it’s the worst maths test of all time with the most beautiful result. We all have our fortes and design is one of yours, ♥️🇦🇺

Btw I’ve purchased the pattern so looking forward to making it, I don’t have any Aran weight as it’s not a common yarn here in Australia so I’ll be making it in DK with a 4mm hook, so wish me luck, won’t be as large of course.

This looks like a fun project to try, but before I start, how much harder would it be for me to use thinner yarn? I haven't watched thought all the vids yet, but if anyone who's made this has an answer, it would be appreciated

@@arwakhalil8054 it’s been a few years I don’t remember off the top of my head. I made a project listing on Ravelry which includes the yarns used, and the amounts. Please make sure to read the notes too as they contain information about the yarns used . www.ravelry.com/projects/DearestDebi/spring-fling-garden

I'm going to buy the pattern but I'm not very good at reading patters yet. Are the tutorials for the blanket for every round? I'm afraid to start and get lost lol thank you 😊

do you think this sort of pattern could still look good with a lionbrand mandala cake where the change in color isn’t controlled?

I would think so. There’s enough detail to make it pop.

@@DebiDearest ok. Thank you! Do you know the approximate measurement when using the larger hook? Then I'll have something to go on.
@DebiDearest
@DebiDearest 4 жыл бұрын
Willeke Nieuwboer mine was 65 inches with worsted weight and and a 5.5mm hook. If you did dk yarn with a 4mm hook it might be 40-45 inches I would guess
