I wouldn’t say this tutorial is beginner friendly due to the lack of explanations or tutorials on individual stitches- and because using a smaller hook can make all the loops for the star petals more difficult. I was able to follow along with the tutorial swapping my yarn with my own little rendition but the granny square is beautiful! I used a 3.5mm hook with weight 3/4 yarns and it turned out great. Would have been better with lighter weight yarn but that’s what I had on hand 😊

This is a great tutorial. I was able to follow the pattern, however, I made the “mistake” of creating 4 squares before continuing to watch so now I have to attach them one by one. Hahaha. But it’s a great tutorial, I was able to practice the squares. I need light weight yarn though, i’m using the same yarn as you used in the video. Thank you for this. ❤

What are the measurements for the squares and triangles? You mentioned using lace weight, but in the ravelry pattern the recommended yarn is a DK. Gauge is 12sts x 12 rows but what weight and st was used to reach that gauge? Thanks. Such a beautiful pattern.
